I was daydreaming about this story I read about the night before. Suddenly there was a loud crash of thunder and lighting. My phone rang and I feel off my bed. I picked up the phone and put it to my ear as I got back onto my bed. Elenore was going on about a haunted house that she wanted to see. As my friend and I were talking, I looked at the window and it was pouring out, “I think I should bring y umbrella, but where is it.” I thought to myself.

“Did you hear about the abandon school in Northen Ontario?” Elenore told me about this place with excitement. “I think we should drive up there and look around.”

“Yeah, sure”, I asked with a concerned tone. “But wait, isn’t that the place that has the mysterious black book?” It was silent on the other end and I was not sure if she was rethinking the idea or was just shocked that I knew about the book. “Elenore? You still?” I asked.

“How about we make a road trip and go tomorrow morning?”

“Alright, let us go. I will start packing for what we will need, and we can go from there.”

“Sounds good.” Then the phone went silent and I hung up the phone.

I thought it was time that I got out of bed as it was just hitting 9am. It was summer vocation; I always enjoyed this time of the year the hot summer sun, feet in the sand at the beach, and when your first step into the lake it is freezing cold but then you warm up to it after awhile. My type of weather. I went over to my bedroom window and opened the pink thin flower designed curtains. Then I went over to my closet which is a walk-in closet. I needed to pick out an outfit for the day, but as always, I had trouble deciding what I wanted to wear. At least I had time. I lived on my own so I did not have anyone telling me to hurry up and get ready, but I needed to so I could walk with Elenore at the coffee shop.

I finished getting ready for the coffee date with my best friend and then walked out the door. Elenore was waiting for me outside my house, she let me under her umbrella as we walked towards the coffee shop. Elenore turned to me and gave me a sweet smile as she opened the door. Her smile always lights up my day. She is the love of my life and I do not want anything happening to her, nor does she want anything happening to me but, we had to discover this mysterious black book that no one has found yet.

We got our orders and sat next to the window close to the door. Elenore put down her umbrella next to her seat and pulled out a book and pen and her laptop onto the table and we started to plan.

“So, we want to leave tomorrow at dawn.” Elenore started to explain. I took a bite of my bagel and nodded.

“Yes, that is a good idea, that is about 7am. So, that is a great time.”

“So, then we have to get up at 5am to pack and I can come get you.” I almost chocked on my bagel.

“Elenore.” She looked up at me and laughed, she knew what I was going to say. “When have I ever woke up at 5am?”

“I know but you will be fine.”

As we continued to eat our breakfast and planned our day trip for tomorrow. It made us extremely excited for the day to come. I just want to go now.

"I think that's it," Elenore said as she closed her notebook and put her pen down. We got up from our seats and grabbed our coffees that we did had not finished and headed out of the coffee shop; the rain stopped so we had not need the umbrella.

I turned over to Elenore and gave her a sweet kiss. "Hey, did you want to come over to my house? That way we are together when we have to leave?" Elenore thought about it.

"Yeah sure, let me just go home and get some things done at home and I'll be right over."

"Sounds great., " I replied and gave Elenore another kiss. "I love you."

"I love you too."

I entered my house and put my bag down. "I can't believe we are actually doing this," I thought to myself as I walked into the kitchen to put my coffee cup in the garbage.

A few hours later Elenore arrived. She put her bag next to the door. We had a very relaxing evening and ended up going to bed early.

Next morning...

Waking up at 5am in the morning was hard for as I did sleep well. I gave a big yawn and got ready for the day. As I slowly walked out of my room, rubbing my eyes, and Elenore was walking out of the guest room and I bumped into her.

"I'm sorry, babe." I spoke.

"Oh no, not at all. you look beautiful," Elenore said.

We got ready, packed up the car. Before closing the trunk, I looked over at the house were Elenore was locking up. "Is that everything?" I asked.

She turned over around and tossed her the keys in her pocket. "Yup, all is good to go." As she said that I closed the trunk door and walked over to the passenger seat.

A couple of hours later....

"Daphne..." Elenore shocked me I got startled me awake.

"What!?" I said in a rude way.

"We are here dear." I looked around and looked at her.

"oh Oh, I'm sorry for being rude, what time is it?" I asked as I rubbed my eyes.

"It's 3pm." I let out a yawn and opened the door.

" l Look at this place," I said as I looked around.

It was an old abandoned high school and there was so much history with this. People seeing ghosts, things being throw and people trying ridiculously hard to find the little black book that say that if you find it there is a clue. A clue to where in the school a big sum of money of $20,000 is hidden, and that the person who finds it can keep it. But no one had found it so there is still a chance. There is a theory that either it is fake, and it is all just a lie, or it's hidden really well the We got close to the school and try tried to find a place to go in. Before I could open the door, I looked inside and almost screamed. Elenore ran towards me.

"What? What? " Elenore said in concerned.

"I thought I saw something; I swear, I saw something coming towards me." ," I said as I breathed very heavily, as I was trying to catch my breath.

"It's okay, you are okay,” Elenore said as she gave me a hug.

Finally, we entered the school and had a looked around before we went to searched for the book. Then off to the left of us we heard a loud clashing and banging noises coming down the dark hall.

"Elenore, I think we should follow the noise," I said as I started to make my way towards the gym. Elenore grabbed my arm.

"No Daphne, you can’t go where you hear the sounds." I turned to Elenore.

"This way, lets go." ," She said as I finally shocked out of it shook it off.

As we went down a long ramp that was leading towards a lot of classrooms. We came went into a room that looked like an auto shop. I ended up picking up a screw drive and pocked gently at Elenore with it.

"Ewe, don't." She said pushing me away, and I dropped the screwdriver, and As I went to go pick up the screwdriver, as we kept looking around the room, we couldn’t find anything that looked liked a book or any of that short.

“We should keep looking for this book, I’m sure this is in this school somewhere.” I said to Elenore.

“What about the basement?” Elenore asked me. I turned to her in amazed.

“Of course, no one would think to go there because it’s dark and its closed off. Let us grab the flashlights and check there.”

We quickly went to the car and grabbed the biggest flashlight we had. Headed back into the school we made our way to find the basement.

“I think it’s this way.” Elenore said as we went past what looks like a gym.

“Alright, let us go then.” I said and then suddenly I saw a shadow down the hall again. “ Did you see that?” I asked as I rubbed my eyes.

“See what?” Elenore asked as she moved her flashlight to see what I was seeing.

“Nothing it is gone now. Whatever I saw I think it is leading us to the basement, like it wants us to find the book.” Elenore nodded and we continued to walk to the basement.

We finally made it to the basement, and it was so dark it was hard to see anything. Good thing we had the big flashlight. Using our flashlights, we took one side each and saw old desk, and chairs and other things such as files.

Looking up and down the hallway hearing noises, from banging to thumbing noises, it did not stop us from getting what we want. Then I noticed a piece of wall that looks like I can open. Pulling it open I looked inside.

“Hey, Elenore. Look” I said as flashed my flashlight to her.

"What did you find, dear?" Elenore asked me. I showed her what I found.

"Look, I found it, I really found it!" I said excitedly.

"Well, let's open it and see what it says." So, I opened, and it had some writings in it.”

“The gift you are finding is within you, the $20,000 grand price is hidden in a secret safe in one of the classrooms, find the code of which there are four numbers to find with in the school and then you will get your money. That is all to it, no strings attached. My name is James Estate and I wanted to give some of my savings to someone special when I pass. So, if you are reading this I have obviously passed away and I instructed someone to hide this little black book for me. Enjoy the hunt if you have seemed to receive and thanks for playing. P.s if you do win it, please announce on the fan page so people do not have to come here to think it is still here.” Fan page at www.JamesEstate.com

I closed the book and looked over at Elenore. She was looking around the auto shop to see if she can spot any numbers.

"I see nothing here."

"Here, a number 3! " I wrote it down in the black book and started to continue to look around.

"Let's look in here," I said. The next room looked like a math classroom. We looked around the room to try to see a number that stuck out. Something strange or out of place. We looked under books, desk and counters, not the blackboard as that was too obvious as there are numbers and graffiti everywhere. Then it suddenly popped out like a shadow passing by my eyes. But before I could even look at the number, we heard another banging noise.

"I think something is trying to distract us from getting the answers because I can hear the banging and throwing things again." Elenore looked at me and looked around the room, suddenly she saw the number too and wrote it in the book and took me out of the room.

"I think this place is more haunted than before, because it seems like it's getting harder to find these numbers."

“Agreed, lets keep looking Elenore.” I said as we looked around to find out where the next numbers are.

We continued down the hallways and every so often we found numbers. So far, we have found three more numbers now, so we just had to find the safe. So we ended up going back upstairs

"Daphne, was there anything or any clues of where the safe could be in the notebook?" Elenore asked me.

"I don't know, let me take a look." I opened the little black book and turned the page.

Once you have found the numbers of the safe box you will find the safe box in the g....

"Daphne?" Elenore said as she put her hand on my left shoulder. "What's wrong? "

I just gave her a blank stare and then I dropped the book and pointed down the hall in front of us. Elenore looked over and there was a white ghostly figure that looked like she was leading us towards something.

"Should....," I started to say as I looked at Elenore. "Should we follow her?" I realized I did not have the book in my hand no more. "Where did the book go?" I panicked.

"Daphne..." Elenore said as she pointed to the ground. I followed her finger and looked down and the book was open on the ground. I went to get it. "Sorry, where was I." I said as I went to look for the page.

Once you have found the numbers of the safe box you will find the safe box in the gym.

"What else does it say, Daphne?" Elenore asked.

"That's all, I guess he still wanted the safe to be a secret. ," "Let us go to the gym and look." I said to her, I completely forgetting about I saw the ghost I saw earlier.

As we headed towards the gym and made sure our flashlights were charged and walked through the gym.

"Well, this is a big gym and broken up like a tornado came through here. ," I said. There was floorboard lifted and it looked like a skate park.

"Okay, why don’t you take that end." I pointed to one half of the gym. "And I will look around this area and the stage." Elenore nodded and we headed our ways.

I was looking around the stage and thought how big this stage was and if it was even bigger before it got a bit torn up. I looked in the dressing rooms and back on the stage and nothing, -either it was too dark to see it or I just cannot find it. "Any luck Elenore.?" I yelled off and in the distance it echoed.

"Nothing yet," She yelled back. And we continued to look.

An hour later....

What seemed liked days, I finally came across something shining. "ELENORE!" I called out. I heard running behind and I suddenly jumped when Elenore scared me.

"Stop that," I said as I hit her playfully. "Look, I think I found something here. Help me." I We both pulled out what looked like a safe.

"This is it;, I hope. ! I hope it's real." The hunt of the $20,000 was getting more and more real every time. Without answering I just nodded and took the book out of my bag and looked at the numbers we wrote down. I turned the nobs to 3cmright, 7cmleft, 10cmright, 65cmright and it opened making a loud thumping sound.

Turning our flashlights in the box we saw the money. It was like heaven. "We are rich Elenore, look at this," I said with glee. We went to grab the money and there was a note inside.

Congratulation, you have found the money prize of $20,000 please spend this carefully and however you wish. Thanks for playing and I am glad you found my secret stash. - James

"I guess we can go home now?" I asked Elenore as she started to put the money in her bag.

Elenore nodded, "Yes, we can go home now."

We grabbed everything and headed out of the school. "I wonder what happened to the ghost lady I saw earlier?" I asked Elenore, she just shrugged her shoulders and gave out a big yawn.

"I don't know, Daphne but whoever or whatever she is, she is gone now."

"Let's go home, I'm exhausted " They went into Daphne’s car and drove off.
