Out in the rural west of the United States of Arizona lives a small almost forgotten town. There’s a legend surrounding this little town that goes by the name of Black Bell. Just down the road of the town was a small factory that goes by the name “Old Farmer John’s meatpacking plant”, which is said to be haunted by several ghosts.

The story goes that in 1964, two young children by the age of 7 and 6 were reported missing and were last seen near and in the factory. The mother and Father both confirmed that they went up to the factory to visit a friend and get a deal on meat for dinner that night. While the father was speaking the mother left to the restroom and when she returned the children were nowhere in sight. The factory was shut down to look for them, but no trace was found and after a week, the police determined that the children missing were by foul play.

The entire family was questioned by the police and it was found that the brother of the father worked at the factory and had prior arrests for abuse and assault. He denied any involvement in the children's disappearance, but he was quickly found guilty after the police reported finding human remains in the factory. Due to the man’s history and fall out with the family, it was believed that while the mother and father were occupied, the uncle lured the children to the meat processing and cut rooms, and began to kill and dismember the two kids. He was trailed and declared mentally unstable and sentenced to a psych ward.

Two days after he was in custody, the children were declared officially dead and a massive recall was issued from the plant with the official reason given was "contaminated meat of the human nature". Word spread of what happened to the children and the uncle, giving the factory bad publicity and a drop in sales.

Shortly after a year the father and mother divorced and the father fell into a deep depression. He drank himself into oblivion at the local bar every night and one day disappeared. Five days after the father's disappearance a worker found his body hanging in the basement of the meat factory in the boiler room. The children’s bodies were never fully recovered and the mother of the children was never seen again.

Ten years after the incident the factory was sold and bought under new management in help of putting the past behind them. During the early morning start up the security working made his rounds with one of the owners when they started hearing children's laughter. Fearing from past events the new owners called police to report trespassers in the facility only to find no one was there. The next day two frantic employees reported seeing a man throwing two children into the meat grinder, then vanishing when he began to give chase. Police again searched the grounds and machines, but nothing was found of the reported action. What was strange was that both employees gave separate, but identical accounts of what happened.

Two weeks after these incidents the Uncle of the family went missing from the asylum. His body was later found hanging from the exact spot of the father’s suicide, with "I killed them" carved into his chest post-mortem and a contorted look of horror on his face. It was also reported that the grave of the father was dug up on the same day and the naked decade body of the mother was placed inside. It was reported that the hands and eyes of the body were missing with the same message carved onto her torso.

It wasn't long after the news reported on this that the meat factory closed down and was abandoned. Since then nature has reclaimed the factory and the townspeople soon left and the town was mostly forgotten and abandoned. Very few people still live there and the ones who are there claim to have witnessed strange sightings. It is said that during quiet moonless nights, you can see the mother of the children roaming the empty dirt road screaming for her lost children to return. The ghosts of the two children can be seen running around the factory grounds on the anniversary of their disappearance and occasionally see a haunting shadow of a man lingering in the boiler room and near the meat grinding area.

Of course, there are skeptics out there that claim that this is only a fairy tale or a campfire story. Perhaps these events did happen, perhaps they are a ghost legend started by a haunted house company. Either way, it's up to you to decide if it's real or not. Until then… maybe these kids will make their way home from my house, it almost 2 a.m. I find this strange because… I haven't had neighbors… in 10 years, and the only house next to me has been abandoned for 20 years…
