The Whispering Shadow

A Mysterious Book, Faint Whispers, and a Vanished Man

By Tahir IqbalPublished 2 years ago • 1 min read

In the darkness of the night, when the entire city was wrapped in sleep, a lone man walked down a deserted alley. His footsteps echoed in the silence. He was no ordinary man but someone who found it hard to differentiate between reality and illusion.

His name was Faraz, a lover of stories and adventures. One day, in an old library, he stumbled upon an ancient book with yellowed pages and faded ink. The book's title was "The Whispering Shadow." As soon as Faraz turned the first page, he heard faint whispers. At first, he thought it was his imagination, but the more he read, the clearer the whispers became.

Every night, when he opened the book, the whispers grew louder, speaking in an unknown language. One night, the whispers began mentioning a specific place: "The ruins of the old city, where time stands still."

Curious, Faraz decided to go there that very night. Under the moonlit sky, he stepped into the ruins and saw an ancient door slightly ajar. As he approached, an eerie glow flickered, and the whispers resounded once more: "Welcome, we have been waiting for you."

The next day, there was no sign of Faraz. Only the old book lay on the ground, and whoever picked it up began to hear the whispers too.
