The Warren's Museum and the owners

Last year headlines have brought the museum to the attention of some and reintroduced it to others. I'm here to explain what is going on and tell you what's going on.

So brief history on the Warrens and their museum. The Warren's were paranormal investigators and authors associated with prominent cases of alleged hauntings. The Warrens founded the New England Society for Psychic Research (NESPR), the oldest ghost-hunting group in New England. The Warrens were among the first investigators in the Amityville haunting. The Annabelle, Nun and conjuring movies were based on their cases.

Now on to the museum. So the museum is in the basement of their house and housed the items that they got from their investigations/cases. These items are so dangerous that they need the right person to handle them. In 2019 Ed and Lorraine Warren both passed away, leaving their legacy and their collection in the hands of Tony Spera. Spera said that he would continue to protect and preserve the Occult Museum and its contents. He also said that he was looking for a new location to reopen the museum to the public.

Somehow Dan Rivera took Annabelle on a tour called “Devils on the Run Tour." Rivera was traveling around the US with other members of the New England Society for Psychic Research to show off Annabelle as part of his tour. Dan Rivera died suddenly in his hotel room on July 13,2025. Annabelle was not in the room when he died.

So last year Matt Rife bought the Warrens house and became the guardian of Annabelle the demonic doll. I have not heard if this is rage bait and I have not heard how this is going for him. The problem a lot of people had with this is with Matt Himself. He tends to anger people by doing and saying things that would get everyone else cancelled but he seems to get away with it (more on that in a later post). He said he did this because he was a huge fan of the conjuring movie, I hope he took them as a warning. I really don't like the guy or his brand of "comedy" (if you can call it that) but I still don't want to see people hurt or possessed. One side of me kind of wants to see what will happen. I haven't heard anything in the year since it happened.

Matt will be the owner of the home and the guardian of all that is inside for five years. He didn't buy it alone, he bought the house alongside his friend and YouTube star Elton Castee. Since I have not heard anything about it I'm thinking that either Matt hasn't done anything stupid. Another theory Elton actually knows what he is doing and is the main caretaker. Matt may have just helped with the purchase.

The reason why I'm not a huge fan of just anyone owning this property and these items is because I don't want this to become a game passing the possessed things around. People really need to know what they're getting themselves in to. They also need to know how to take care of these things. They're not just haunted. Everything in the house was possessed or used in a satanic ritual. The Warrens had priests come in to do blessings put holy water on the objects. That tradition and schedule needs to be stuck to.

Not everyone knows how to handle possessed objects or possession in general. Bad things could happen if these things got into the wrong hands. People could die or have misfortune. Bad luck could also be a side effect. It could wreck havoc on the community and people.

I don't think Matt will take it seriously, which these things need to be. He could prove me wrong which I hope he does.

I don't care if people own them but they need to know how to take care of them. It needs to be safe for everyone involved.
