The Walking Dead Refuses to Permanently End

Why this is a massive mistake for the television show that has now become a franchise.

The Walking Dead is one of the few televisions shows that I was believing was officially going to end on season 11, saying goodbye to a show that started off strong, experienced a downfall for two seasons straight, and it luckily ended strong with mixed feelings from fans.

The ending gave me a bad feeling, but not for the reasons you think.

I instantly knew that we were going to get some spinoffs, but I did not predict the ridiculous amount of spinoff stories we were going to get.

I was just expecting one spinoff, featuring Daryl and Carol, and possibly only one film to officially end the series for good.

I was alright with this at first, because I truly believed these were going to be the only two projects.

The reason I was fine with a spinoff of Daryl and Carol, is because these two characters are not a big deal in the comic. Carol dies super early, and Daryl is nonexistent in the comic book, so I was completely fine with the spinoff, because I felt that these two characters were by far the most fascinating ones in the series.

A movie would have been fine too, because I assumed that the film would focus on how Rick Grimes gets back home to his family, and The Walking Dead would for sure end here.

Instead, we got multiple spinoffs of characters that didn't need one, other television spinoff shows that became way too repetitive, such as Fear the Walking Dead, that started off so strong, only to become an annoyance to a lot of fans.

Now I'm so disappointed with the latest news.

The creators of the show announced that The Walking Dead is actually going to continue for who knows how long, because the story is only halfway done...I was in complete bafflement the first time I heard this.

Truly, what is left to tell with this franchise?

I felt that the ending to this show was totally fine, but somehow, the show is going to continue from where it left off?

How are these spinoffs even getting views in the first place? Are people just interested to see how far the deep end this show is going to fall?

It also doesn't help that the zombies suddenly decided to get more advanced later, and let's not forget, the zombies became vicious and intelligent until 10 seasons later...which makes no sense.

(There is apparently a whole backstory to the zombies since the very old seasons, but that is a story for another day).

It sucks how The Walking Dead that gained a huge fanbase, is now unwatchable to so many fans, and it's for all the wrong reasons. People are now calling The Walking Dead the new Marvel, and with the new Marvel, this would be considered an insult...because Marvel also became a repetitive mess later too.

I never thought in a million years that The Walking Dead would ever go down this route. Whoever thought a story of a cop waking up from a coma into a world of the undead would lead to a dragging mess that didn't need to continue? Man, I miss when this show had the main survivors struggling to make it through a cruel dark world, as they lose one another in the worst ways imaginable. That was when their connections mattered the most, because they truly saw one another as family, so when someone died, you truly felt the loss.

Plus, the old seasons were so scary to watch, because back in the old seasons, no one was truly safe. Plot armor really didn't exist back then, and we saw so many people bite the dust.

Those were the good old days of The Walking Dead.

How do you feel about this new development with the show?
