Moving into the Apartment
Ahmed was a young man who worked long hours and was looking for an apartment that suited his limited income. After weeks of searching, he found an old apartment in a dilapidated building on a quiet street. The rent was surprisingly low, but the landlord assured him it was simply due to the building's age. Ahmed didn't hesitate and signed the contract that same day.
On his first evening, he unpacked his belongings and enjoyed the tranquility of the place. The apartment was spacious, although it needed some minor repairs. Before leaving, the landlord said something strange: "If you hear noises at night, don't worry, the building is just old." Ahmed didn't take it seriously and thought it was just a normal warning.
The Beginning of the Mysterious Events
After several nights, Ahmed woke up to a faint scratching sound coming from the hallway. He quickly opened the door but found nothing. The same thing happened the following night, and then he began to hear slow footsteps, as if someone was walking around inside the apartment. He tried to convince himself that the sounds were caused by the stretching of the wooden beams or the movement of the air inside the old building.
As the days passed, the sounds became clearer. Sometimes he would hear a child crying in the distance, and other times he would hear a woman whispering incomprehensible words. The lights began to flicker on and off by themselves, and objects disappeared from their places only to reappear later in different locations.
Discovering the Old Diary
One evening, Ahmed was cleaning the kitchen when he noticed an old cabinet oddly attached to the wall. Moving it, he discovered a small, hidden door behind it. He cautiously opened the door to find a narrow, dusty room and an old wooden box.
Inside the box, he found a collection of papers and a diary belonging to a woman named Nawal. The pages began to tell the tragic story of a child who had vanished without a trace many years before. Nawal wrote that she heard her child's voice every night inside the apartment and that she had never stopped searching for him.
The Last Night
On the last page of the diary, written in shaky handwriting, was the phrase: "If you hear his voice, do not follow him." Ahmed felt afraid but tried to ignore it. That very night, he heard loud knocking on his apartment door around midnight.
He approached the door and looked through the peephole. A pale-faced woman wearing an old white dress stood motionless in the dark hallway. Suddenly, she raised her head and looked directly at the door, as if she knew he was watching her.
The Terrifying Ending
Ahmed backed away in a panic, but the lights suddenly went out, plunging the apartment into darkness. Moments later, he heard a woman's voice behind him say quietly, "Have you seen my son?" He turned slowly to find the woman inside the room, holding a small child in her arms.
She smiled a chilling smile and said, "I've found him at last... but I still need someone else." Then the lights went out completely, and Ahmed's screams echoed throughout the building.
The next morning, the landlord arrived after neighbors complained of terrifying noises. When he opened the apartment, he found no one inside. Ahmed had vanished without a trace, while the residents insist that they still hear a woman's voice crying in the hallway, repeating only one phrase:
"Where is my son?"
Things become more terrifying the more you listen at night. Remember, you are not alone; they are everywhere, watching everything. You cannot see them, but they see everything. They observe in complete silence every movement, every reaction, and every feeling of fear you experience at night. Take a deep breath and don't be afraid. Move slowly and without fear. If you hear any sound, don't run away. Face it. They feed on fear, and your fate will surely be dire if you try to escape.
