The sound of footsteps echoed through the abandoned hospital halls. Rebecca shuddered as she clutched her flashlight tighter, the beam of light trembling as her hand shook. She had always been terrified of the dark, but she had never imagined that she would find herself in a place like this.

Rebecca had been a nurse at the hospital before the pandemic hit. But as the virus spread and the hospital became overrun with patients, she had been forced to flee for her own safety. Now, months later, she had returned to the hospital on a desperate mission to find some supplies.

The halls were pitch black, the only light coming from the beam of her flashlight. As she made her way through the maze of corridors, she felt as though she were being watched. The silence was so complete that she could hear her own heartbeat pounding in her chest.

Suddenly, she heard a noise behind her. She whirled around, the flashlight beam revealing a figure in the darkness. It was a patient, dressed in a tattered hospital gown, his eyes wild and his face contorted in an expression of pure rage.

Rebecca stumbled back, her heart racing. She had heard stories of patients who had gone mad during the pandemic, their minds twisted by the virus. But she had never imagined that she would come face to face with one of them.

The patient lunged at her, his fingers clawing at the air. Rebecca screamed and darted down the hallway, her flashlight beam bouncing crazily off the walls. She had to get out of here.

But as she turned a corner, she ran straight into a group of patients. They were all dressed in hospital gowns, their faces twisted in madness. Rebecca tried to push past them, but they grabbed her, their hands clawing at her skin.

She fought back with all her strength, but there were too many of them. They dragged her down to the ground, their hands tearing at her clothes. She screamed and thrashed, but it was no use.

And then, suddenly, the patients stopped. They released her and stared at her, their eyes wide and unseeing. Rebecca scrambled to her feet and shone her flashlight on them, but they didn't move. It was as though they had suddenly become frozen in time.

Rebecca didn't know what to make of it, but she knew that she had to get out of there. She ran as fast as she could, her heart pounding in her chest. She didn't stop until she was out of the hospital and back in the safety of her car.

When Rebecca got home, she collapsed onto her couch, her body shaking with fear. She knew that what she had seen in the hospital was not normal. Something was happening there, something that she couldn't explain.

Over the next few days, Rebecca couldn't shake the feeling that she was being watched. She kept seeing shadows out of the corner of her eye, and she could hear strange noises coming from outside her house at night.

One night, she woke up to find that her bedroom door was open. She had locked it before going to bed, but now it was standing wide open. She sat up, her heart racing, and shone her flashlight into the hallway.

There was nothing there. But as she looked closer, she noticed something strange about the walls. They were covered in strange symbols, symbols that she had never seen before. They were etched into the paint, as though they had been carved into the very fabric of the building.

Rebecca felt a cold sweat break out on her forehead. She knew that these symbols were not meant to be seen by human eyes. They were ancient, something that had been left
