**The Train That Stops Only for the Dead**

*“If you see its lights… your time is almost over.”*

Rain hammered against the empty station as Daniel checked his watch for the third time.

2:57 AM.

The last train had already passed hours ago, yet an old man sitting at the far end of the platform hadn’t moved an inch. He simply stared down the tracks with hollow eyes.

Daniel tightened his jacket.

“You waiting for someone?” he asked.

The old man slowly turned toward him.

“No,” he whispered. “I’m waiting for the dead train.”

Daniel laughed nervously. “Dead train?”

The man pointed toward the darkness beyond the rails.

“It comes at 3:13 every night. No driver. No passengers. Only the people who are about to die can see it.”

A cold wind swept through the station.

Daniel rolled his eyes and checked his phone. No signal.

Then the lights above the platform flickered once… twice… then died completely.

From deep within the darkness came the distant sound of metal grinding against rusted tracks.

SCREEEECH.

Daniel froze.

Two pale lights slowly appeared in the fog.

An ancient black train crawled toward the station. Its windows were cracked, smeared with something dark red. The metal body looked rotten, as if it had been buried underground for decades.

And yet… it moved.

The old man stood up immediately.

“Oh God,” he muttered. “It’s early tonight.”

The train stopped without a sound.

Its doors slid open.

Inside sat dozens of silent passengers dressed in old-fashioned clothing. Some looked burned. Some looked pale and bloated. One woman’s head tilted at an impossible angle.

None of them blinked.

Daniel stepped backward.

“This isn’t funny,” he whispered.

Then he noticed something horrifying.

Every passenger was staring directly at him.

The old man grabbed Daniel’s arm hard enough to hurt.

“Don’t let it hear your name,” he whispered.

Too late.

A voice echoed through the train speakers, distorted and broken like a dying radio.

“Daaaaaniel…”

The doors opened wider.

The passengers slowly began smiling.

Daniel’s heartbeat exploded in his chest as icy air poured from inside the train. He stumbled backward, but the platform behind him suddenly seemed longer… stretched impossibly far away.

The station itself was changing.

Rotting.

The walls cracked. Paint peeled away. Old blood stains appeared beneath his shoes.

“What is this?!” Daniel screamed.

The old man’s face turned pale.

“It only appears for those marked to die before sunrise.”

Daniel shook his head violently. “No. No, you’re lying!”

But deep down… he remembered something.

Earlier that night, before coming to the station, he had almost fallen asleep while driving home. His car had swerved across the highway.

A truck horn.

Bright headlights.

Impact.

Daniel slowly looked down at his hands.

Blood dripped from his fingers.

His breath stopped.

The old man backed away from him carefully now.

“You were never waiting for the train,” he whispered.

“You were already on it.”

One by one, the passengers inside the black train began turning their heads toward the empty seat waiting beside them.

Daniel heard the speaker crackle one final time.

“Last stop.”

The doors slammed shut.

And at exactly 3:13 AM…

the dead train disappeared into the fog.
