The Third Parent is Getting a Live Action Adaptation

This is another live action adaptation that I assumed would be impossible to bring to life. The Third Parent is based on a creepypasta story, that I consider to be one of the most disturbing and graphic short horror stories ever written. The Third Parent is about an evil entity known as Tommy Taffy, who goes after families, staying with them for a short period of time in their own homes, terrorizing them in unimaginable ways. 

I haven’t read all of the chapters yet, due to how messed up this story is, but I know enough of what to expect for this brutal story. From the looks of the trailer, it could be focusing on the very first chapter of the story, that follows a random family. This family consists of a father, wife, and two children, a son and a daughter. 

One day, the family gets a knock at the door, and the father goes over to answer. The person at the door is described as a doll, or even that of an action figure. His name is Tommy Taffy, and the family has no choice but to let him in. The crazy twist is that both parents already knew of Tommy Taffy, and they both panic, realizing that a monster from their past has come back to haunt them. As children themselves, their own families had been targeted by Tommy, and they were all tortured by his hands. 

The families in their neighborhood once tried to kill Tommy Taffy, by either dismemberment or burning, but no matter what they did, he would always return in one piece. They had no choice but to let him inside of their homes, leading to endless trauma and torture. 

The parents in the first story attempt to fight back against Tommy, but like their own families in the past, it only led to severe consequences for the entire family. The wife is tortured by Tommy, and the husband is forced to not interfere, as their children are left confused and scared about what is happening to their family. It only gets worse throughout the story, when the children become Tommy’s next targets. 

Then toward the end of the story, during a very disturbing sequence, the son and the father have an important discussion. He tells his son that if he wants to avoid Tommy coming after him as an adult, he must never have children. It’s the only way to avoid continuing the monstrous cycle of Tommy Taffy. 

The son agrees, and then we cut to years later. 

The boy is now an adult, and he hears some shocking news from his sister. 

She has given birth to twins in the hospital, and now the cycle of evil from the monster that plagued them years ago will return to the boy’s sister. 

It’s such a shocking and tragic ending, knowing that Tommy is going to make a return. It bothers me so much how this monster is the reason why no one can ever have a family. Having children is literally a death sentence, if you live in the world of Tommy Taffy. 

I honestly cannot believe we are getting a horror movie. I feel that next year is going to be insane with the horror genre. Another movie that I was in shock about a live action adaptation was Crossed. This is a very graphic comic book that I thought was impossible to get a live action movie, and it looks like The Third Parent is next. 

Next year is going to be insane, and I’m not sure if I’m going to give this movie a watch. I’m not prepared for this brutal storyline…
