I was peacefully in my room, lying on the bed, listening to rock music, which I loved, just like my family. There were five of us in the house: my parents, my younger brother, Lean, and my older sister, Kristen. They were all in the living room watching a movie, while my dog Bobby and I were in my room.
Forgive me for not introducing myself earlier. My name is Noxius, and I am 16 years old. Today, I will tell you my terrifying story about the Blood Thief.
Day 1: I was running late for school, and since it was difficult to walk there from where we lived, I had to take the school bus. I didn't like it much because the music was always loud, and the seats were uncomfortable. So, my parents had to drop me off by car. I always enjoyed looking out the window, even though the view didn't interest me much. But that day, I saw something that chilled me to the bone. In the woods next to the road, I saw white eyes shining from behind some bushes, along with large antlers. At first, I didn't pay much attention, thinking it was just an ordinary deer. However, during our History class, the teacher told us a story I would never forget—the legend of the silent killer, also known as the Blood Thief. I had never heard of it before, but as the story progressed, my heart started beating faster than usual. The teacher said that this creature dwells in the woods and has white eyes. She also clarified that it was merely a legend, and no one has ever really seen it alive. But in my mind, I couldn't help but wonder, did I actually see the Blood Thief with my own eyes? After classes, I didn't take the bus; I walked home and told my parents I was going to have lunch at a friend's house, but that was a lie. I had decided to go to the forest to find an explanation for what I had seen that morning. I ventured into the woods, crossing a small river and several bushes. After walking for several hours without finding anything, I went back home. When I arrived, my parents greeted me at the door as if they hadn't seen me in a week. They never did that, and it seemed strange, but I was too tired to think much of it. I went up to my room with a hot bowl of soup, and as I lay on the bed, I heard a piercing sound that made my ears feel like they were going to explode. I rushed to the window, and there they were—the white eyes, the large antlers, and a hat on top. The creature stood up, and I was terrified. It was so tall! In its large arms, it held a yellowish sack from which red liquid dripped. I was so horrified that I fainted.
Day 2: I woke up in my bed, and my parents were relieved to see that I was okay. They said they found me standing in front of the window with completely white eyes, as if I had turned into a zombie or something. I asked if I could stay home, and they agreed without hesitation. But after this incident, I couldn't just sit around. I packed a backpack with supplies for a week and set out to enter the forest. I told myself I wouldn't leave until I unraveled the past, but a few seconds later, I didn't even know why I said that. It didn't seem cool to say something like that in the middle of a forest. Just thinking about the creature from last night sent shivers down my spine. Vibrations ran through my whole body, and suddenly, when I least expected it, after five hours of walking, there it was, face to face with me, just a few meters away. And yes, you can imagine, it was the Blood Thief. In person, it was even taller than I thought, with claws longer than my entire head. It approached me and said in a deep, dark voice, "If a killer kills, and a thief doesn't, what should I do with you, kill you or not?" I panicked and ran away from there, and even from a distance, I could still see it, that face, those eyes... Even though I couldn't see it from afar, I could still hear its voice. "Your death will come soon, Noxius." I was speechless. How did it know my name? Without realizing it, I fell into a hole, but this one was round, as if someone had deliberately dug it. But the impact made me faint again.
Day 3: I woke up in a large, dark cave, and it didn't seem like anyone was there. I quietly stood up and decided to leave as far as I could. After three hours of walking and trying to find my way back to the city, I reached a river. It was the first time I smiled in two days. I drank water and set out again. After another four hours of walking, I fell exhausted by a lake. I was starving, but I had left my backpack in the cave; I was so scared there that I completely forgot about it. However, when I looked at myself in the lake's reflection, something made my heart stop for a moment. The Blood Thief had followed me, and with its long arms, it put me inside the sack it carried. I woke up at 10 o'clock at night, thanks to a clock my father gave me for my birthday. But I was petrified by what was in front of me. There were heaps of people's corpses, but only the bones remained, which struck me as strange. Just a few meters away from me stood the infamous and now familiar Blood Thief. He turned around, looked at me, approached, and for a moment, I thought he was going to kill me. But instead, he took off his hat and placed it on my little head. After that, the Blood Thief vanished, turning into ashes, and yes, I fainted again. I woke up in my bed, and there was a putrid smell. I quietly went downstairs, and at the dining table, I found my parents and my siblings, dead, only their bones remaining. There was a note on the table that said: "Look at what you have in front of you and don't focus on what's behind, for what you think you are, is not what you should think." Signed, the Blood Thief. I went to the bathroom, feeling the urge to vomit, and in the mirror, I saw myself, desperate to find an explanation. But I noticed that my appearance had changed completely. My eyes were white, and I had horns on the sides of my head, and my nails had grown rapidly. I went back to the dining room, crying over the death of my family, and noticed that on the table, there was a yellow sack—the very sack of the Blood Thief. Inside, there were liters and liters of blood, the blood of my entire family.
Hello, I am Noxius. I am 17 years old, and it may sound strange, but yes, I am the Blood Thief. And you will be the next one to be drained of blood. Good luck in your remaining days of life.
