The Vocal Challenge prompt (2nd part)

Before he could speak, Chase tried to hit him hard with all his might, but even if he was strong physically, it didn’t hurt. As far as Chase could tell, the stranger was unaffected by the blows.

But the stranger didn’t seem to care at all about them, instead, he shoved Chase against a wall, grabbing his wrist and pulling his face closer.

“Do you have some sort of death wish?”

“Please leave me… I don’t know why am I here”, Chase pleaded, feeling his throat getting tighter each second, “I mean I don’t know why I’m here at all, but-”

“Shut it, kid, I got no reason to listen to you.”

Things started changing forms, people who looked normal were changing into other creatures, some bigger, others smaller. They all walked and talked around him and his surroundings changed rapidly as if someone had flipped a switch and turned all the lights on, forcing him to look at his surroundings.

A sudden scream rang through the air.

Chase turned towards it and gasped in horror.

All of the passengers were screaming, some of them crying, some of them laughing, some of them yelling, and some of them begging for help.

Chase tried to run away, but the stranger grabbed his arm and threw him onto the ground.

“You’re gonna pay for that, kid”.

A light shone from his chest and suddenly he was surrounded by golden flames. He struggled, trying to fight against the fire surrounding him, but eventually gave up.

When the flames disappeared Chase stood up again, looking around frantically until he found the person who caused him this hell.

The ticket collector had transformed as well and was looking for something stronger and grand.

The black wings protruding from him looked terrifying, and they looked like they were glowing slightly. His face was twisted into a horrible smile, his teeth glinting as he took a step forward.

Chase was extremely terrified, and the sound of him screaming filled the entire train car, which only made it worse.

Suddenly, everything went quiet, as if the world was holding its breath.

Chase stared at his surroundings with wide-open eyes, still struggling to believe that this had all happened.

The people around him were frozen.

“I am Erebus”

His voice was low and powerful, echoing throughout the whole car, and even though he didn’t talk loudly or even raise his voice, it felt like he spoke directly into Chase’s soul

He shook his head and blinked a few times, trying to clear away the images he’d seen in his mind.

Chase crawled to the ground while his eyes fixated on him.

Erebus’ eyes turned pitch black and he growled lowly, the sound filling his ears and shaking him even more.

Erebus slowly walked up to the young man, and when he got close enough, he lifted his leg, ready to kick the boy who dared to look at him.

“You are such a nuisance human”

Chase saw a gate just a few meters from him, and it seemed to be a very good idea to take advantage of this situation, so he ran towards it while Erebus was still looking.

Chase tried opening the door with all force, but it was locked. When he turned around, the creature was right in front of him, a menacing grin forming on his lips.

“I guess you will have to die”

The compartment was freezing hard, there was ice everywhere and the monsters were frozen and he heard him laughing at his efforts.

His eyes scanned the place for anything useful, but there wasn’t anything else than the cold metal bars.

“Damn it!” He yelled angrily.
