Nestled along New England’s shores, in a quiet little town

Where the rural pace of life transforms and coziness abounds

Lived a young, budding family, with three frolicking young kids,

A four-year-old named Tori, Tommy six, and Billy ten

And mom and dad, and granny too, in a cozy country cottage

Where the simple winter landscape views paid a deep and reverent homage

To bygone days of Christmas past and holiday tradition

When home and family time surpassed the modern-day edition

Of lavish overspending and gross overindulgence

Rather than attending to the season’s true exultance

In a festive transformation, of green and red and gold

They hung bright decorations, a true sight to behold

A tinsel-covered tree and strings of colored lights

Filled the days with childhood glee, and gave enchantment to the nights

Perched upon the sacred shelf of the family Christmas mantle

Sat an evil little impish elf, the spawn of evil Santa

Mom and Dad, and Granny too, derived mischievous delight

Staging scenes increasingly taboo with each successive night

The children taught unwittingly, to blame their deeds on others

A naughty little joke to see their guilt go undiscovered

Pandora’s Box was opened, breathing life into this creature

And naughtiness emboldened in this vile, wicked teacher

In the shadow of the moonlight, with the family fast asleep

This insidious creature of the night stalked stealthily and creeped

Within their hallowed walls of safety, undeterred and unmolested,

A knavish elf who may be the ghost of Satan manifested

Sadly, little Tori, snuggled safely in her bed,

Was discovered one cold morning, she’d been smothered, she was dead

And the only clue uncovered was that evil Christmas doll

A plastic baggie from the cupboard in his clutches down the hall

You may think this sad misfortune is a mere coincidence,

But a similar fact pattern took the life of Tommy since

Like his sister, he was cold and dead, around his neck a belt

And perched beside him in the bed, that sadistic little Elf

The spirit of the undead masquerading as a toy

Bright glowing eyes of red, windows to its soul devoid

A conduit of evil was this trouble-making sprite

A mischievous little devil, its spirit awakened in the night

With a fire, they destroyed the Elf and watched him as he burned

But by morning, to his shelf that evil monster had returned

Like a Ouija Board, this portal opened doors from hell’s abyss

A poison to us mortals who are helpless to resist.

This vessel of solemn evil in a child’s Christmas toy,

Gave a holiday upheaval to December’s fun and joy

Alas on Christmas morning the real culprit was discovered

When without a sound of warning Billy tried to kill his mother

Possessed, he carried out the tasks of his evil elfish master

Deadly and sinister attacks performed with evil laughter

If an elf you have invited, to share your Christmas holiday,

Beware the spirit you’ve incited by this mischievous display

Of insubordination, wickedness, and strife

An evil manifestation resolved to take your life!
