The Mirror Showed Someone Standing Behind Me… I Live Alone

I checked my apartment twice. Doors locked. Windows sealed. But the mirror… it showed someone who wasn’t supposed to be there.

I’ve always liked living alone.

No noise. No interruptions. No one touching my things. Just me, my thoughts, and the quiet hum of the city outside my window. My apartment wasn’t big, but it was enough—a bedroom, a small kitchen, and a living room with a full-length mirror mounted against the wall.

That mirror came with the apartment.

I didn’t think much of it at first.

Until last night.

It started around 3:07 AM.

I woke up suddenly, not from a dream, but from a feeling. You know that strange moment when your body reacts before your mind understands? Like something isn’t right… but you can’t explain why.

My room was dark, except for a faint streetlight leaking through the curtains. I sat up, listening.

Silence.

Then I noticed something.

The mirror.

From my bed, I could see it clearly—and for a split second, I thought I saw movement behind me.

I froze.

Slowly, I turned around.

Nothing.

Just the empty room. My chair. My closed door. Everything exactly where it should be.

I let out a nervous breath and laughed at myself.

“Just your imagination,” I whispered.

But something felt off.

I got out of bed and checked the apartment. The door was locked. Windows sealed. No signs of anyone.

I even checked the closet—empty.

By the time I got back to bed, I felt stupid for being scared.

But I couldn’t shake the feeling.

The next night, it happened again.

3:07 AM.

This time, I was already half-awake when I noticed the mirror.

And I swear… I wasn’t imagining it.

There was someone standing behind me.

Not clear. Not detailed. Just a shape.

Tall. Still. Watching.

My heart started pounding so hard I could hear it in my ears.

I didn’t move.

I didn’t breathe.

I just stared at the reflection.

And then—

It disappeared.

I spun around instantly.

Nothing.

The room was empty.

Again.

But this time, I didn’t feel stupid.

I felt terrified.

I didn’t sleep after that.

Instead, I sat on my bed, staring at the mirror until sunrise.

Nothing else happened.

But I knew what I saw.

And I knew it wasn’t normal.

The third night, I decided to record it.

I set up my phone facing the mirror before going to bed.

“If something’s there,” I told myself, “I’ll catch it.”

3:07 AM came.

I woke up.

And there it was.

Clearer this time.

The figure stood directly behind me in the mirror.

Not just a shadow anymore.

It had a shape.

A head.

Shoulders.

Arms hanging unnaturally still.

I could feel it watching me.

But I didn’t turn around.

I couldn’t.

Because something deep inside me knew—

If I turned around…

It would be closer.

I stayed frozen for what felt like forever.

Then slowly, very slowly, the figure in the mirror tilted its head.

Like it was… curious.

Like it was studying me.

And then—

It smiled.

Not a normal smile.

A wide, unnatural stretch across its face.

I gasped and jumped out of bed, turning around instantly.

Nothing.

The room was empty.

Just like before.

My hands were shaking as I grabbed my phone.

The recording.

This time, I had proof.

I played the video.

It showed me sleeping.

Still.

Peaceful.

Then 3:07 AM.

I sat up in the video.

Just like I remembered.

But behind me…

There was nothing.

No figure.

No shadow.

Nothing at all.

I replayed it again.

And again.

And again.

Still nothing.

That’s when I noticed something that made my blood run cold.

In the video…

I wasn’t looking at the mirror.

I was staring directly at the camera.

With a smile on my face.

I dropped the phone.

My chest tightened as I slowly turned my head toward the mirror.

And that’s when I saw it.

This time…

The figure wasn’t behind me.

It was standing inside the room.

Right behind me.

Not in the mirror.

Real.

And in the mirror…

I was still sitting on the bed.

Smiling.

Looking straight at it.

I couldn’t move.

I couldn’t scream.

I could only watch as the thing behind me slowly leaned closer…

Until I felt its breath near my ear.

And then it whispered—

“You’re the reflection now.” 👀
