The Last Corridor: The Haunting of Psychiatric Hospital
What I Discovered in the Psychiatric Hospital Changed My Belief in the Supernatural.

I never believed in horror stories. To me, they were always just exaggerated tales spun from human fear. That was, until the night I entered the abandoned Harapan Sehat Psychiatric Hospital, a place notorious for its dark history of unexplained deaths. I had heard about the hospital’s closure in 1995, after a string of mysterious incidents involving both patients and staff, and as a freelance journalist, I saw an opportunity to investigate.
Armed with nothing but a flashlight, a camera, and a voice recorder, I stepped into the decaying building. The musty smell of mold and mildew filled the air, and every step seemed to stir up clouds of dust. The walls were adorned with strange scribbles, faded and nearly illegible, adding to the eerie atmosphere.
I walked down the main corridor, the silence deafening. Suddenly, I heard footsteps behind me. I turned quickly, but there was no one there. I shook it off, telling myself it was just my mind playing tricks. But the tension in the air grew thicker.
When I reached the main treatment room, I found rusted hospital beds and old medical equipment. But it was the faint whisper on my voice recorder that caught my attention. “Help…” it said, barely audible but undeniably clear. My heart raced as I played it back. The voice was real.
I followed the sound of the voice down a narrow, rusted corridor, leading me to a small room. The door creaked as I pushed it open, revealing walls scrawled with incoherent writings. In the center, a wheelchair sat ominously facing the wall. A single phrase, written in red, caught my eye: "I’M STILL HERE."
Then, the wheelchair moved on its own. Slowly, it rolled away from the wall. My breath caught in my throat. But curiosity pushed me closer, and I started recording with my camera.
That’s when I saw it—a shadow in the corner of the room. I pointed my flashlight at it, but it vanished. The moment I lowered the beam, the shadow was closer, moving with a life of its own.
I couldn’t take it anymore. I ran. The corridors seemed endless, whispers and soft crying echoing from every door I passed. When I finally made it outside, I didn’t look back.
The next day, I reviewed the footage. In one of the photos, I saw a pale man with hollow eyes standing right behind me. I was alone, or so I thought.
My investigation led me to an old article about a patient named Zio, who had disappeared in 1995. Known for writing "I’M STILL HERE" on every surface he could find, Dimas was one of the last patients to vanish.
Now, strange things happen in my own home. Whispers haunt me late at night, and that same phrase—"I’M STILL HERE"—appears on my bathroom mirror, no matter how many times I wipe it clean.
Zio didn’t stay in that hospital. He followed me home.
