Part 3: Echoes of the Past

Sarah’s heart pounded as the figure that looked like her grandmother stepped toward her, arms outstretched, with that grotesque smile still etched across her face. The mist swirled around her, cold and suffocating, and the skeletal hands pulling at her limbs grew stronger, more relentless. But this wasn’t her grandmother. This was something else—something far worse.

The faces in the mist, twisted in agony, stared at her, watching as she struggled to escape. The whispers grew louder, overlapping, chaotic, making it impossible to focus.

Sarah... come home…

The figure’s voice echoed in her mind, cutting through the whispers. Sarah's mind raced. She couldn’t stay here. She had to find a way out—but how? There was no door, no way to escape the grasp of these ghostly hands.

Think, Sarah. Think!

Her eyes darted around the cellar, searching for anything—anything—that might save her. The tools on the wall… the chest… the mist… there had to be a way. And then she saw it—the crowbar. The one she had dropped earlier in the chaos, now lying just out of reach.

With a burst of adrenaline, she kicked free from the hands grabbing at her legs and scrambled toward the crowbar. They recoiled, then surged forward, more determined than before.

Desperate, Sarah backed up against the wall, her breath coming in ragged gasps. The figure—the thing that looked li

Sarah woke with a start, gasping for breath. The cellar was gone. She was lying on the cold, damp ground, but it wasn’t the cellar floor. She was… somewhere else. Somewhere dark and unfamiliar. The air was thick with a foul, earthy smell, and the only sound was the faint dripping of water in the distance.

She pushed herself to her feet, her body aching from the fall. The mist was still there, but it was thinner now, less oppressive. And the voices… they were quieter. For now.

As her eyes adjusted to the dim light, she realized that she was in some sort of underground chamber. The walls were rough, made of stone, and covered in strange markings that seemed to pulse with a faint, eerie glow.

Her heart raced as she took in her surroundings. Where was she? Was this still part of the house? Or had she been taken somewhere else entirely?

And then she heard it—a sound that sent chills down her spine.

Footsteps.

Someone—or something—was coming. And it was getting closer.
