Amanda had sleep paralysis; which sometimes meant while she slept, she was unable to move her body but still be able to hear and see everything around her. She was sleeping over her cousin Leann's house while her Aunt Matilda was away on a work retreat. Amanda and Leann had fallen asleep in the living room; they had just finished watching the Descent - it was at the ending showing all the credits when suddenly Amanda heard a thud. At first, she decided to ignore it, thinking it was the TV only to hear the thud again and louder. Realizing it can't be the TV, Amanda opens her eyes to see around the room - something in the corner of the room catches her eye. As she laid there and stared in the same direction for a few seconds, she finally saw it. Panicking Amanda tries to get up - but she can't, so she attempts to again and nothing. She realized she needed to calm herself down to try to move again, Amanda closed her eyes only when to open them she no longer sees the thing in the corner. It was dark, the dim light of the TV gave off the little light to see the living room - frantically looking around Amanda starts to cry. Still unable to move, Amanda tries to wake up her cousin Leann - trying to open her mouth to speak was impossible at the moment. Overwhelmed with panic and fear, Amanda could not prepare herself for what was to come. She closed her eyes again,  as she tried to calm herself down - only to feel it didn't help when she tried to move. As soon as she opened her eyes, she saw this thing standing near the edge of the couch where her feet were. Her eyes were bulging with tears, looking at this tall, lanky figure with nothing but its eyes glowing red - it reached its hands out and grabbed Amanda by her ankles - its rubber-like hands burned her skin, it started to drag her off the couch. As soon as Amanda hit her head on the floor, it was as if her body woke up - she starts to scream and attempts to kick her ankles free. The figure hissed at Amanda and began to drag her faster, heading towards the basement door.

Rapidly trying to break free from 'it's' grip, her screams finally awoke her cousin Leann. Leann sat straight up on the couch, rubbing her eyes; confused and startled Leann looks around for Amanda, finally straining her eyes in the intense darkness seeing Amanda being dragged down the hall. Leaping up Leann runs down the hall, hitting all the light switches as she passed, causing "it" to drag Amanda faster. Amanda felt the cold breeze from the basement hit her ankles, causing her to scream louder. Amanda held onto the trim of the basement door, as she felt her hand slip, Leann turned on the light switch above the door. 'It" and Leann made eye contact before it shrieked away in pain, Amanda bolted up as quickly as possible pushing herself into Leann causing them to fall over on he floor. Leann was so stunned on what had happened she couldn't move her eyes from the basement doorway, Amanda distraught yanked Leann out of her statuesque state, slammed the door shut before grabbing her Aunt Matilda's keys running out the front door. Not daring to look back.
