Demonte Colony

The sun had set hours ago, and the streets of Chennai were quiet. The only sound was the soft hum of the city's traffic in the distance. The group of friends huddled together outside the barricades of Demonte Colony, peering into the darkness.

"I don't know about this, guys," said Suresh, his voice shaking. "Maybe we should just go home."

"Nonsense," said Rahul, a smirk on his face. "We're not scared, are we?"

The others laughed nervously, but they all knew that they were scared. Demonte Colony had a reputation for being one of the most haunted places in Chennai. People had disappeared within its boundaries, never to be seen again.

But the friends were young and curious, and they wanted to see for themselves. They pushed past the barricades and made their way into the darkness.

The first thing they noticed was the smell. It was a sickly sweet smell, like rotting fruit. They tried to ignore it as they made their way deeper into the colony, but it only grew stronger.

As they walked, they began to hear strange noises. Scratching sounds, like something was trying to claw its way out of the old, decrepit buildings. They tried to laugh it off, but the feeling of dread only grew stronger.

Suddenly, one of the friends disappeared. They searched the area frantically, but they couldn't find any trace of him. The others began to panic.

"We have to leave," said Suresh, his voice shaking. "Now."

But before they could move, they heard a soft whisper. It was coming from the darkness.

"Leave now, and you'll never make it out alive."

The friends froze. They didn't know where the voice was coming from, but they could feel it surrounding them. They began to run, trying to find their way back to the barricades, but the streets twisted and turned in the darkness.

They turned a corner and found themselves face-to-face with a creature. It was humanoid in shape, but its skin was black and scaly. Its eyes glowed in the darkness.

The friends screamed and turned to run, but the creature was too fast. It lunged at them, its claws outstretched.

They scattered, running in different directions. The creature pursued them, its claws scratching against the walls of the buildings.

Rahul ran down a dark alleyway, his heart pounding. He could hear the creature behind him, its heavy breathing echoing in the silence.

He saw a door and pushed it open, stumbling inside. He slammed the door shut and leaned against it, panting.

But then he heard a soft scratching sound, coming from the other side of the door.

He turned and ran deeper into the building, his heart pounding in his chest. The scratching grew louder and louder, until he could feel the door shaking.

He turned a corner and found himself face-to-face with another creature. This one was different than the first. It was smaller, but its eyes glowed with an intelligence that made Rahul's blood run cold.

The creature lunged at him, but Rahul was too fast. He dodged out of the way and ran down another hallway.

He could hear the creature behind him, its claws scraping against the concrete floor. But he could also hear something else. A soft whimpering sound.

He followed the sound to a small room. In the corner was a young girl, huddled in a ball.

Rahul hesitated for a moment, but then he knew what he had to do. He grabbed the girl's hand and pulled her to her feet.

"We have to get out of here," he said.

Rahul and the girl ran through the dark, twisting hallways of the abandoned building. The sounds of the creatures chasing them echoed through the empty space. They were getting closer.

Just as they thought they would be caught, they saw a faint light in the distance. They ran towards it, their hearts pounding with adrenaline.

As they got closer, they realized that it was a group of people huddled around a small fire. They looked up as Rahul and the girl approached, their faces twisted with fear.

"What happened?" one of them asked.

"We were exploring Demonte Colony," Rahul said, his breath coming in short gasps. "And then these creatures started chasing us. We need to get out of here."

The group looked at each other nervously, but then one of them stood up. "I know the way out," he said. "Follow me."

They ran through the dark, following the stranger's lead. The creatures were getting closer, but they kept running. Finally, they burst out of the building and into the open air.

They ran until they were out of breath, and then they collapsed on the ground, gasping for air. They were safe.

As they caught their breath, they looked around at each other. They were all covered in dirt and sweat, and their hearts were still pounding.

"That was the craziest thing I've ever experienced," said Rahul, still trying to catch his breath.

"But we made it out alive," said Suresh, relief washing over him.

The group sat there in silence for a moment, catching their breath and trying to process what had just happened.

But then they heard something. A soft whisper, coming from the darkness.

"We'll be waiting for you."

The group looked at each other nervously, but then they stood up and started walking. They knew that they had survived Demonte Colony, but they also knew that the creatures were still out there, waiting for their next victim.

From that day on, the group never spoke of their adventure in Demonte Colony again. But they never forgot the feeling of fear and excitement that had coursed through their veins that night. And they never forgot the soft whisper, coming from the darkness.
