“The Dark Room”
A story that only haunts you at night...

My name is Amna, and this story is about my little sister Areeba… or maybe, it’s about that room where darkness never ends.
We had recently moved into an old apartment building on the second floor. At first, everything seemed normal. But every night, Areeba would say the same thing:
“There’s someone in the room when the lights go out.”
We thought she was just scared of the dark…
But later, I realized—I was the one who should’ve been scared.
The First Night
That night, the electricity went out. Areeba ran and hugged me, shaking.
“He’s moving inside the room, Amna!”
I laughed and said, “Don’t be silly. It’s just your imagination.”
But when I tried to close the room’s door,
I felt something touch it from inside—
as if someone was holding it...
It Happened Every Night
Every night at exactly 2:30 AM, Areeba would wake up and whisper:
“He’s watching me. His eyes shine in the dark.”
We called a spiritual healer. He quietly said:
“Something is living in this room. Take Areeba away from here—soon.”
The Final Night
Areeba looked at me and said:
“I’ll find him tonight.”
I had fallen asleep, but when I woke up—Areeba was gone.
The door to the dark room was wide open.
I stepped inside… only to find her teddy bear on the floor…
and a small red cap.
Areeba was never found again.
Even Today…
That room is locked.
But every night at exactly 2:30 AM, the bulb inside switches on by itself…
And I hear the voice of a little girl whispering:
“I’m still here… Amna…”
