It's good it is gone
This is really quite eerie; it's easy to forget that human nature has some seriously dark elements and that abandoned places tend to attract people driven by that darkness. You did a really good job of putting the hospitals story, and its somewhat doomed to fail nature, into perspective and clarity. I hope I'm not overstepping, but I would suggest putting your headings in bold or in heading format, just because it would make it easier to read for many people. With that said, I enjoyed (maybe not the right word considering the subject matter) this story - thanks for sharing it!
