Being Aware
For my whole life I've heard a voice in my head. Not one that drives me to insanity but rather one that keeps me sane. I can't force it to happen, nor can I predict it. It happens entirely on its own when I'm in some sort of trouble, or when I'm going to be hurt. It's caused me to be aware of everything that goes on around me, but even then, that's not enough.

The Portrait
For so long, the house had intrigued her. Why she was so drawn to it, she had no idea, but she had to see it...She had to go inside.

Robin was walking through the woods in the midnight hour in late September. Even though she was rushing, she didn't know what it was that was calling her so intently and made her leave the crowd to follow the whispers of the forest. It has been just under an hour that she wandered off and she now didn't know where she was, but she only knew where she was going, or at least she believed she knew.
Cloak Guy
It was a normal school day. My friend Sharon and I were sophomores in high school. She had her license; I didn't. So, as you can assume, we were always in her car. We drove to school together, she dropped me back off at home afterward. Unless it was a Friday night. Well, you guessed it, it's a Friday.

I have always been fascinated by ghosts and the supernatural but I can't say that I have actually had a real supernatural experience.

Lisa Green grew up on the Sunshine Coast in beautiful British Columbia. Along with her brother Dean, step-father Alex, and mother Jenny they'd recently moved into a modest 2-bedroom, 2-level home on Chaster Rd. Not too far from schools and amenities, it was a wonderful new place to call their own.

I heard footsteps and looked up. A doctor in green scrubs was there looking at my wife and I with deep sadness. “Dr. George,” I asked, getting up quickly. My stomach was knotted with dread and fear.

Aerion, Aesteria 1871 Rayvn sat in front of the mirror, brushing out her hair. Her hands were shaking and her breath was coming quickly as her heart pounded. Aerion, Aesteria 1855 A scream came from the birthing chamber of Lillian and Jace Black as the Marchioness was told once more by the midwife to push. Jace was outside the chamber, pacing as he listened to his wife's screams. The Marquess prayed for the first time in years as he ran his hands through his fiery red hair, that his wife would bring safe delivery to their children and survive the night herself. Once again, he listened to her cry out and winced, but the cries that followed brought joy through his fear. He watched as a nursemaid rushed past, giving him a glimpse of the woman he cherished most in this life. She looked exhausted, sweat beads could be seen dotting her forehead, tendrils of her curly onyx hair plastered to her cheeks in the dim firelight. The door closed and he took a deep breath. He had only heard one child cry, there was still another to come but this was the moment in which he feared most. With the last child, his dearest Lillian's fate would be forever sealed.

Spirits are real. You may have been told otherwise as a kid by your disbelieving parents or by society but you can't doubt the clamor of the poltergeist or the chill of their astral bodies as they try to merge back into the physical plane. Some people see, feel or hear them. Others don't. Since I was younger, I have always had brushes with the fantastic. Whether it was in the form of the rare cryptid sighting or a spirit, there was always some way or another these things found a means to communicate with me.
