The Shadow That Followed
Liam Carter first noticed it on a Tuesday. The morning sun stretched his shadow across the pavement as he walked to work, just like any other day. But something was… off. At first, he couldn’t quite place it. Maybe the angle was strange, or maybe he was imagining things. He shook it off. By lunchtime, the feeling hadn’t gone away. As he passed by a reflective glass window, he saw his shadow again—only, this time, it was delayed. He stopped walking. The shadow didn’t. Liam’s stomach twisted. He took a step back. The shadow hesitated, then slowly followed. His pulse quickened. This wasn’t normal. That night, he tested it. Standing under the dim light of his apartment, he raised his right hand. The shadow raised its left. Liam’s breath caught in his throat. He moved forward. The shadow stepped back. And then— It turned its head. Liam stumbled away, his heart pounding. Shadows weren’t supposed to move on their own. They weren’t supposed to think. He barely slept. The next day, he avoided looking at his shadow. He walked carefully, stayed in well-lit places, and tried to convince himself he was imagining it. But by evening, he knew he couldn’t ignore it anymore. As he stood in his living room, the lamp beside him casting a soft glow, he forced himself to look. The shadow was still there, dark and shapeless. But now, it was watching him. Liam swallowed hard. “Who are you?” he whispered. The shadow shifted. For the first time, it separated from his feet—standing on its own. Liam’s blood ran cold. Then, it spoke. "I’ve been waiting for you to notice." The voice was hollow, like wind through an empty room. Liam’s knees went weak. This couldn’t be real. “What do you want?” he asked, barely above a whisper. The shadow’s form flickered. "You took my place." Liam’s mind raced. Took its place? What did that mean? Before he could speak, the shadow lunged. Darkness swallowed him. The next morning, Liam Carter walked to work like always. The sun stretched his shadow across the pavement. But if anyone had looked closely, they would have noticed— It wasn’t following him anymore. It was leading.

The Train That Never Stops
Noah Pierce had taken the midnight train home countless times before. The familiar rhythm of the tracks, the quiet hum of the passengers—it was always the same. But tonight felt different. As he stepped onto the platform, he noticed an eerie stillness in the air. The station, usually buzzing with a few late-night travelers, was empty. The only sound was the distant whistle of an approaching train. When the train arrived, Noah hesitated. It looked older than usual, almost antique. The exterior was polished but had an odd, timeless quality, as if it had been untouched for decades. Still, it was late, and he was tired. He stepped inside. The interior was unlike anything he had seen before. The seats were deep red velvet, the wooden paneling elegant. A faint golden glow from the overhead lights cast long shadows. There were a few other passengers, but they sat unnaturally still, their faces hidden behind newspapers or gazing blankly out the windows. Noah chose a seat near the back and leaned his head against the window. The train began to move, smoothly at first. Then, the speed increased. Faster. And faster. Noah frowned. The ride home usually took thirty minutes, but the train showed no signs of slowing down. The outside was nothing but a blur. No stations. No stops. He turned to the nearest passenger—a man in a dark suit reading a newspaper. “Excuse me,” Noah said. “Do you know when the next stop is?” The man didn’t respond. Noah reached out, gently tapping his shoulder. The newspaper fell from the man’s hands. Noah’s breath caught in his throat. The man was nothing but a hollow shell. His eyes were empty sockets, his skin pale and lifeless. Noah stumbled backward, his heart pounding. He turned to the other passengers. One by one, they began to shift. Their faces were blank, their bodies stiff like mannequins. The train’s lights flickered. A voice crackled through the overhead speaker. "Passengers, please remain seated. This train has no final destination." Noah’s stomach twisted. This wasn’t right. He grabbed his phone—no signal. He rushed toward the door, trying to pry it open, but it wouldn’t budge. He ran to the conductor’s cabin. The door was locked. Through the small window, he could see someone standing inside—the conductor, dressed in an old-fashioned uniform. But when the conductor turned, Noah saw nothing but darkness where his face should have been. A shadow. The train jolted. Noah lost his balance, crashing against the wall. Outside, the darkness seemed endless, stretching forever. Then, the whispering began. Low at first. Then louder. Voices murmuring from the walls, from the seats, from the passengers who should have been lifeless. "We never left… We never left… We never left…" Noah’s pulse pounded. He had to get off. He turned and ran, moving through car after car, the whispers following him. The train felt infinite, the end always just out of reach. Then, ahead, he saw it—a flickering red "EXIT" sign. Without thinking, he lunged for it. The door burst open— And he fell. Darkness swallowed him. Then— He woke up. Noah gasped, sitting up in bed, his body drenched in sweat. His heart was still racing. It was just a dream. Or so he thought. As he turned, his eyes landed on something resting on his nightstand. A small, crumpled train ticket. The time stamped on it? Midnight. And at the bottom, in faded ink, two chilling words: "No return." Noah’s blood ran cold. Because some journeys never really end.

The Whispering Banyan. AI-Generated.
Introduction In the heart of rural Maharashtra, nestled between rolling fields and dense forests, lay the small village of Devli. Time seemed to move slower here; the villagers lived simple lives, untouched by the hustle of modern cities. But Devli had a secret—a shadow that loomed over it for generations. At the edge of the village stood an ancient banyan tree, its roots twisting and crawling like the fingers of something alive. The villagers called it "Vishvas Vruksha," or the Tree of Trust, but not out of reverence—out of fear. For those who dared approach it at night spoke of whispers, voices that weren’t their own, calling them closer.

The Forgotten Ones
It started with Eli. One night, I texted him about our usual weekend plans, but the message never delivered. His name was still in my contacts, but every old text thread, every group chat, every tagged photo—gone. I scrolled through my phone in confusion, my stomach knotting tighter with each missing piece.

The Deportation at Bachelors Grove Cemetery Feb 2025. Top Story - February 2025.
Bachelors Grove Cemetery has been an urban legend in Chicago for decades. Since the late 1950s, strange disturbances plagued the once-forgotten burial ground—graves desecrated, headstones slipped over, and eerie lights flickering through the sparse trees. Paranormal investigators, thrill-seekers, and the occasional criminal prowled the grounds until the police patrolled the area nightly to keep away the curious, the reckless, and those with far darker intentions. The police patrols occasionally would come across something not easily explained away.

In the depths of my closet. Content Warning. AI-Generated.
In the depths of my Closet, where darkness swirls and glowing eyes of the night watch over me with the eerie intense feeling. I found myself confronting a long forgotten box. As I slowly lift its lid, A chorus whispers fills the stale air, each word a fragment of my childhood memories that long had been buried. What seemed like a distant dream is now a puzzle piece, hinting to the existence of a hidden realm between worlds, where shadows play games and fears materialize before my very own hazel eyes. I vividly recall a scary and unforgettable night from my childhood. When I was five years old, is when I experienced something weird. It was really late at night, I was in bed my favorite fur baby Tosha. The room was cloaked and the heavy silence of the dark hour, only to be broken by the uneasy feeling weighing heavily upon like palpable force. Suddenly tasha’s usual loving demeanor was shattered as she began growling and barking showing her teeth fearfully at something lurking within the confines of the closet, my gaze was drawn to the source of her distress. The eyes of the entity or demon emanating A chilling glow of the bright red eyes stared deep into the depths of my being and unsettling my very soul. In a quick heartbeat, before I could make sense of the surreal forsaking sight before me. Tosha leaped off the bed, still showing teeth, barking and growling. Tosha looked so determined and focused, she disappeared into the darkness of the closet with a swift motion and action. The once evil and eerie presence that had gripped us with its unsettling gaze, seemed to evaporate in an instant. I was left completely bewildered and haunted by the events that just unfolded in that dark space. When Tosha emerged, her fur was matted and dirty from a substance that was not her own. The liquid, painted a gruesome picture of the inexplicable encounter that had just taken place within that fateful closet. Tosha was no longer acting like her normal self. As I slowly try and piece together the fragment of that horrible and scary night. Many questions swirl within my mind like tempestuous storm. Was Tosha perhaps possessed by that entity or demon lurking in the shadows of the closet or was is it all a figment of my imagination, a possible dream distorted by the haze of childhood fears? Despite the decades that passed, the enigma within the confines deep in the closet, remains a haunting mystery, a talk that continues to defy rational explanations and lingers as specter of the unknown in the depths of my memory. As I got older, I got into ghost hunting to help me understand what may have happened that night. I believe that spirits (ghosts) and evil entities do exist. I tried going to the house this happened in to get answers, and it was no longer there because it was caught on fire. I wonder if they experienced what I did many years ago, and if so what happened to the evil that I saw lurking in the closet? Where did it go? To this day, I truly do not know what happened deep in that closet with that entity and Tosha, and I may never know what may have unfolded. I guess I will never find the truth or answers to the many questions I have from that unforeseen night when I was only 5 years old.

The Vanishing Reflection
Eleanor was never one for the supernatural. She was proud of logic, of reason. So, when she first realized her reflection wasn't in the mirror, she assured herself it was a trick of the light. Perhaps the glass was distorted, perhaps she was exhausted—but deep inside, she knew better.

The Whispering Cabin
The town of Raven Hollow had many ghost stories, but none were as famous as the tale of the Whispering Cabin. It stood at the edge of the dark Blackwood Forest, abandoned for years. Yet, people claimed to see strange lights flickering through its broken windows at night. Some said they heard voices calling from inside. Others swore they saw shadows moving.
