The Disappearance of Annabelle Johnson. Content Warning.
As soon as the lights turned out, Annabelle sat up in her bed and looked at the closet. Her heart raced deep in her chest, and she felt as though she couldn't breathe. For the first time in her eight years of life, she was afraid for her life. Every night, after her mom had kissed her goodnight and her dad had turned off the light, the little boy who called himself Luca had come from the depths of her closet to play with her. However, she knew better than to do so, especially when he invited her to see the one he called “Papa.”

Pathogen, Ch. 8
With Bianca on board, Julian's plan should have been smooth sailing from that point on. Keyword: "should". All things considered, it wasn't that hard for Bianca to move her hybrid luxury SUV into the alley, or for the three of them to stuff Zombie Trevor into the back of it. Luckily he didn't put up much of a fuss, and there weren't too many people around to see what they were doing. The few people Marnie saw walking past the alley didn't seem to notice them, presumably because it was already dark out and they were in a hurry to get home.

Behind the Locked Door.
A Mysterious Mansion It was a cold eerie night in London. The empty streets whispered secrets as the wind howled through the trees. Occasionally a distant dog barked breaking the silence. Oliver Smith a young journalist drove towards the city’s oldest district where an unusual lead had brought him. He had heard stories about an abandoned mansion called "Wilson Mansion." It had been deserted for over fifty years and people claimed that whoever entered never came out. Some believed it was haunted while others suspected it was being used for illegal activities. Recently a few passersby had noticed lights flickering inside and had heard the chilling screams of a woman.

The Exorcee
Chapter Thirteen Burlington’s a small place. The address I sought was less than two miles from Dill’s, and the boundless wisdom of the Internet guided me thither through my phone. As I drove along, holding said guide in my right hand as I steered with my left, it occurred to me that I’d never bothered to name my phone—which was odd, because I name everything. What was a good name for a phone? Hal, obviously, or R2-D2—but I didn’t want a mechanistic-sounding moniker. Ratatosk was the carrier of messages of Norse mythology, but that wasn’t a title that rolled off the tongue. Tim? Too random. Phone, phony-phone, phonity-phone-phone, nope, I had nothing. Didn’t matter. The right name would suggest itself when and if the time came; no sense trying to force it. Meanwhile, here was Syme’s place.

Can I Tell You About…
I had not planned to die that day. But fate or something deviously disguising itself as coincidence, had other plans. It was an ordinary Tuesday. A traffic signal blinked amber at the corner of Manoush Street. My coffee cup was empty, and I started cursing myself for forgetting my umbrella.

The Exorcee
Chapter Twelve My initial plan was to swing by Papa John’s on the way back and pick up my personal special pizza: pepperoni, jalapeños, extra cheese, roma tomatoes, and anchovies. I call it The Horror. For some reason, none of the Boston pizzerias I frequent have added it to their regular menus yet, but it’s only a matter of time. In any case, I was betrayed by Chronos—they didn’t open till eleven. I headed back to Dill’s, lachrymose and bellicose.
