The Delicate Sound of Darkness
I don’t even know how to start this… I’ve never been one to consider existentialism as anything more than a hobby. And religion? PLEASE! But, I’ll tell you this, for someone like me to be sitting here, in a musty, concrete basement, writing my last words that nobody will ever see, the concepts of existentialism and Hell are two things I wish I would’ve spent more time on. Who knew?

He Cuts His Way
Lawrence closed the door behind him with a huff, his arms ached, and his legs wiggled. Depositing his things in a nearby chair, he didn't bother trying to make it look neat; he just let it all fall. Dragging himself to the small kitchen in his apartment, he sat down at the bar curling his legs up to the wooden beam of the chair to let them recover. It wouldn't take long for his stomach to protest his lack of empathy towards it and their mutual need for food.

LUCY STIRRED. She shot upright to the drum of her own heart beating, which coincided with a peal of thunder. After a few deep breaths, she sat wide awake, recovering from what could only have been, a terrifying dream. She reached for the torch, and swiched it on. A beam of cool white light shone all around her, and filled the chilly tent.
