10 and a half days
Jessica stared over the ship's railing as she recalled the accident that had changed her life. She remembered the amusing afternoons and the sudden thunderstorm. Her husband, the captain of the ship, had fought vigorously to ensure that the ship survived the storm but she didn’t. After braving the storm for 10 and a half days, at noon the ship crashed. Only one person, Jessica, survived. Her friends, her family, her daughter, her husband, everyone drowned and she couldn’t save them. She still trembled every time she boarded a ship. She was rudely interrupted in her daydreams when the captain came to give her a tour of the ship.

Lies and an Investigation into the Fabricated Noble History of Lady Angela Cappelletti III
“Lady Angela Cappelletti III,” who self promotes herself as Princess Angela Marisa Elisabbetta Cappelletti (Bonaparte), is merely a fraud. Her grandiose assertions of being related to notable figures such as Francesco Petrarca and Napoleon III, as well as her supposed Spanish nobility through Paula Saldós, Duchess of De Padilla, are entirely false. She fabricates a lineage that supposedly connects her to Napoleon Bonaparte III and Duchess Paula Saldós through their daughter, Princess Enriqueta Bonaparte Saldós. It seems she has watched too many Disney movies, as wearing a tiara doesn’t make you a princess.

The Witching Hour
There once was a mysterious and terrifying village called Mayapur in the middle of the dense Sundarbans. In whispers, the peasants discussed "Pret-er Prohor"—The Witching Hour. It was just before midnight, when the boundaries between the worlds of the living and the dead became hazy and the departed's spirits were free to roam. The residents would stay inside and lock their doors at midnight every night, hoping for a speedy break of dawn.

Doomsday Murders
In the American Wildlands of Indiana, there was a cult of people who believed the world would end, if the blood of innocent virgins was not shed. There have been horror stories throughout history, where many believed the reason crops would not grow in the fields, or why there was a severe drought, was due to the fact God himself was not pleased with his people. So some would offer blood sacrifices to appease these higher beings, believing this is what they wanted. Nobody truly knows where this bizarre myth began, only that many cultures around the world thought this was a genuine way of pleasing their God-like rulers from the sky. I am not here to question religion as a whole, as nobody truly knows for certain whether or not there truly is some other worldly force that controls the planet, watching over us and protecting those who deserve it the most. This story is about the before mentioned Doomsday Cult of Indiana, who in 1985, were involved in a series of terrifying murders that nobody should ever repeat!

Sticky Masks
Halloween is a spooky time of year, it is a fun holiday for the kids and adults too. Anyone who likes to play dress up adores this time of year as people dress like Vampires and Zombies, knocking on strangers house doors, asking for candy with the classic phrase; "Trick or Treat!" Now the first word in this catchphrase "Trick" is often ignored, as most people don't even think about it and just pour a bag of sweets into the kid's plastic buckets. However, if people shut the door in these kids faces, refusing to give out candy, don't be surprised if that house gets toilet roll thrown all over it that very night. These are mostly harmless pranks, that may be a pain to clean up the next day, but it is what it is. However, there was one particularly nasty case back in 1972, when a young man was selling 5 cent Halloween masks to kids and families around his local neighbours the day before Halloween. For mere pennies, the masks he made were truly frightening and good. Everyone loved them and couldn't believe the cheap price. Everyone thought the man was simply sharing his craft and making a small fortune at it too. It seemed wholesome, but the next night when everyone put on these masks for Halloween, they found that the mouths didn't have holes in them for breathing and there weren't any eye holes either. Soon those who wore these masks would suffocate! Breathing frantically for air, desperately trying to yank the mask off, but it would seemingly melt around their heads, preventing them from escaping. The sick man who had made these deadly masks, had killed almost a hundred children and adults too, everyone who wore his masks were 90% likely to die before getting the hideous traps off. Police investigated for years, as the same horror story was repeated around America from 1972-1976. Then in the last year of this bizarre murder case, an undercover detective purchased a Halloween mask from a suspicious looking street vendor. The man who sold it to him, was particularly creepy, his eyes were wide with excitement. A collection of unbrushed teeth stained his forced smile and he had long greasy hair. The guy appeared to be in his early thirties and many speculated that he was homeless, for he dressed in dirty old clothes and his beard was fully grown. Perhaps that was just part of his disguise, a poor man just trying to make ends meet by selling cheap stock. Yet the Detective suspected more of this mysterious mask vendor, believing him to be the strange killer he was after. The Detective took the mask to the forensics team in nearby Orlando. It was revealed that the mask was made out of a very cheap rubber, one that was easily melted by even a gust of warm wind, the sun light itself could crumble the item to tatters alone. So when anyone put on the mask, only to realise they can't breathe, the hot air they'd expel would cause the mask to stick to their face and become almost impossible to take off. It was up to debate whether or not this was done on purpose, or it was just an unfortunate downside of the material being cheap. Suddenly the idea that this killer meant intentional harm was suddenly up for debate, many believed the killer only wanted to make a profit and had no intention of causing mass murder. However, even if this was by freak accident, the killer could've stopped this lunacy, but instead chose to profit off death! Either way, they had their monster, now they just needed to track him down! Sadly, when the Detective returned to the scene where the mask vendor was stationed, he had disappeared entirely! After searching and questioning the neighbourhood for hours and hours, the Detective had no idea where the creep ran off to. He kicked himself for not arresting the killer when he had the chance, but an unwarranted arrest would've been catastrophic to his career, so he couldn't have risked that. Yet if he knew for certain, back then when he first bought the mask, that the creep who sold it to him was indeed guilty, he'd have happily taken that risk if it meant getting that mad man behind bars. Fate is cruel instead, as the murderous mask vendor was never seen again. Although the killer was never caught, the strange murders did stop the year he was almost caught. Perhaps this monster realised the police were on to him, so decided to quit this strange career path and chose another method of making money. Maybe the Detective actually did track down the killer and only lied about losing him, as he might have murdered the mad man himself, as the Detective had kids of his own and may have preferred to see this killer dead. Or it could have been a local neighbour on the street that killed the mask vendor, as he or she may have been a concerned parent who wished their kids no harm and went to extreme measures to prevent any more mask killings. Whatever the case may be, it is always safe to buy Halloween masks from trusted brands, as you never know the quality of a cheap knock off. Buying one might just be a deadly mistake.

Hotel Night Shift Part 1
Those were good when I did not believe in ghosts. For a long time I was wandering here and there in search of a job. Then with great difficulty I got a night shift job in a hotel. Due to poverty and financial crisis at home I was ready to do any job. That is why I was forced to agree to the night shift job in a hotel even though I did not want to. In a night shift job in a hotel you meet some interesting people but still it is a very easy job. You only need to have the courage to stay awake all night. In other words you get paid for sitting in front of the computer for 8 hours. If a customer comes then it is okay otherwise the whole time is yours. Then at night you have to prepare a report and set up breakfast for the morning. After that you can go home but the problem is that as the darkness of night sets in, you get paid for sitting in front of the computer for 10 hours. Your heart starts pounding I mean yes there is enough light in the lobby but it is completely dark outside and loneliness The biggest problem of this night chef job in the hotel is that I am completely alone here at night and no other worker is working with me which makes my job even more depressing There is no solace in knowing that you are just 30 feet away from a person who might be sleeping in his room right now In fact sometimes I feel as if the world has ended and only you are alive Yes sometimes it also happens that someone coming from another city or a family checks in at 4 in the morning, seeing their smiling faces I also have to pass a fake smile and then what other small things Formality And then the same loneliness Staring into the darkness And just waiting for the morning to come and when I will be able to go home There is no way to divert the mind How can you divert your mind when something is stuck in your mind Some time after starting the night shift, I would suddenly get goosebumps Something would get stuck in my heart as if some person or something was staring at me The lobby of the hotel is something like this First of all, there is a door in front of us, like the ones in hotels, made of transparent glass, which I would lock after my colleagues left and start my shift As we enter, we have a common area There is a sofa set here and a table There is a pile of magazines on the table To the left of this is our breakfast area Because this hotel is small, it looks a little closed There is another door on my right There is a door which leads to the swimming pool area. It is very small, uncomfortable and has been built in a strange way. Well, I don't get paid for interior designing. I get paid for keeping all these things in good condition. And yes, there is a bell outside the main door which can be rung by any guest who comes at night. Then I go and unlock the gate and welcome the guests. Actually, the main gate should be open 24 hours because this is a hotel. But this hotel is in the middle of a highway where there is nothing around. The next petrol pump is also 45 minutes away from here. It was around 4 in the night. It was my second or third night. So, I had not yet got used to staying awake at night. My eyes were heavy and I was dozing off every now and then. Then there came a point when I fell asleep completely when the doorbell rang. I immediately woke up and took the keys and ran towards the gate. I started to open the gate in my sleep. Then I looked at the transparent glass. There was no one outside. I thought that maybe someone had waited for too long and had gone to the new job. I cursed myself a lot for sleeping. I was afraid of only one thing that my boss might not get a complaint in the morning. I went straight to the breakfast area and made a strong coffee for myself. I had decided to stay awake the whole night. In a short while the doorbell rang again. This time I had reached close to the door before the bell rang completely. But still there was no one. At this time, there could not be any children who were playing a joke on me. After this, nothing happened the whole night. After two-three nights passed Now I had become accustomed to the night shift and I had started working well. The manager of our hotel was very happy with me. He never tired of praising me. But the manager had no idea how easy the job was and as managers do, he rewarded me for my good work. He gave me more work. He asked me to clean the swimming pool area a bit and prepare the breakfast area. I said okay, it was not a difficult job and I did not mind cleaning and at least I would have something to pass the time at night. The manager forgot to tell me that the lighting near the swimming pool was very dim. There were only four 40 watt bulbs installed in the corners of the walls of the swimming pool, whose presence or absence was the same. Darkness started from where the light of the light bulb ended and our boundary wall was even further away because of the darkness.
