Matter Meets Anti-Matter
There was only one rule: don’t open the door. She had said those words to me the first day we met. Many of the villagers were afraid of Agnes, the town midwife and healer. To me, she was my whole world. An orphan, she had taken me in as her apprentice when I, haggard and starving, first happened upon her woodland cottage so many years ago.

A Cautionary Tale
"There was only one rule: don’t open the door.” Those words still dripped deep crimson down the wall above a pool of congealing blood when I walked into the darkened bunker. A drop of unknown liquid dripped into some nameless pool, breaking the silence as I stepped toward that gaping maw of shadow.

The Old Brownstone Door
There was only one rule: don’t open the door. Not like they could. The doorknob was welded shut; the key was broken off in the deadbolt; and a slide latch was secured with a rusty padlock. As far as Sarah knew, nobody had been to the basement for four generations, not since her great granddaddy died in a distillery explosion under the house in the steam plant tunnels.

King Arthur
There was only one rule: don't open the door. The house sat at the end of Sturbridge Street, undisturbed since the end of the investigation in 1992. The rusty hinges were hidden behind an overgrowth of ivy. The vines: speckled with thorns - a warning to most, and an invitation to some.
