'Supernatural'

Supernatural first started airing in 2005 and is still airing. If you haven't seen this show, it's about two brothers following their father's footsteps as "hunters", fighting evil, supernatural beings of many kinds, including monsters, demons, and gods that roam the Earth. Now I’m going to list some interesting facts about either the show or the cast.

• The first interesting fact is that there has been confirmation of a fourteenth season by Jared Padalecki on April 2, 2018.
• The second interesting fact is that season three remains the shortest season so far with only 16 episodes. The other seasons have 22 or 23 episodes.
• The third interesting fact is that Charles Whitfield and Mark Pellegrino appeared on Ghost Whisperer (2005).
• The fourth interesting fact is that Titus Welliver (one of the four horsemen) and Mark Pellegrino (Lucifer) played evil versus good brothers on Lost (2004).
• The fifth interesting fact is that in the show, Jared Padalecki plays Sam Winchester. Sam Winchester’s brother’s name is Dean. Padalecki played Dean Forester in Gilmore Girls (2000).
• The sixth interesting fact is that Jensen Ackles (Dean Winchester), stated once that after he and Jared (Sam Winchester) had their first and only fight, he knew that he and Jared would become good friends.
• The seventh interesting fact is that Bobby Singer (Jim Beaver) was only supposed to make a one-time appearance.
• The eighth interesting fact is that Jeffrey Dean Morgan (John Winchester) is only twelve years older than his on-screen oldest son, Jensen Ackles (Dean Winchester).
• The ninth interesting fact is that as of 2017, this was the longest-running television show to never win an Emmy.
• The tenth interesting fact is that in the first couple seasons, the Winchester brothers were often mistaken for a gay couple.
• The eleventh interesting fact is that Samantha Smith (Mary Winchester, is only nine years older than Jensen Ackles, who plays her elder son.
• The twelfth interesting fact is that Jensen Ackles was a groomsman in Jared Padalecki’s wedding.
• The thirteenth interesting fact is that in the original draft, Dean was supposed to have lots of tattoo but the show’s budget wouldn’t allow it.
• The fourteenth interesting fact is that the series is filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia.
• The fifteenth interesting fact is that Jared Padalecki had to leave Gilmore Girls (2000) to be on this show. The same thing happened to Jensen Ackles, who had to leave Smallville (2001). Both shows were from the WB.
• The sixteenth interesting fact is that Jim Beaver (Bobby Singer) just recently had a somewhat important part on an episode of NCIS.
• The seventeenth interesting fact is that actress Michelle Borth (who played Carmen Porter) also played Catherine Rollins/Lt. Catherine Rollins on the newer version of Hawaii Five-O.
• The eighteenth interesting fact is that this show was suppose to be originally called Unnatural.
• The nineteenth interesting fact is that for the first season the budget was $200,000.
• The twentieth interesting fact is that Jensen Ackles originally auditioned for Sam Winchester but got the role of Dean instead.
• The twenty first interesting fact is that the Supernatural series was only supposed to last five seasons originally.
• The twenty second interesting fact is that the writers got the name Winchester from the huge Victorian house in California owned by Sarah Winchester.
• The twenty third interesting fact is that Alan Ackles, Jensen’s father, appeared on season 8 episode 2, and played the role of a detective.
• The twenty fourth interesting fact is that Mackenzie Ackles, Jensen’s sister, was also featured on 2 episodes; the first time was in season 2 episode 3, “Bloodlust,” and the second time on season 7 episode 6.
• The twenty fifth interesting fact is that Jensen Ackles helped direct a few of the episodes and those are season 6, episode 4; season 7, episode 3; season 8 episode 3; season 10, episode 3; and season 11, episode 3.
• The twenty sixth interesting fact is that a lot of the episodes are named after rock songs.
• The twenty seventh interesting fact is that Sam Winchester's (Jared Padalecki) shoulder injury in season 10 is an actual shoulder injury that Jared Padalecki got while wrestling a fellow cast mate and the writers had to write it in.
• The twenty eighth interesting fact is that Padalecki also broke his wrist during filming of season two.
• The twenty ninth interesting fact is that when Supernatural was renewed for its 12th season, it became the second longest running consecutive science fiction series behind Doctor Who (1963).
• The thirtieth interesting fact is that Dean’s baby is his 1967 black Chevrolet Impala. The show uses eight different cars, each with different purposes.
• The thirty first interesting fact is that Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who also plays Negan on The Walking Dead, plays John Winchester, Sam and Dean’s dad.
