By Hafsa MughalPublished 3 years ago • 3 min read

Whenever you hear the sound of a dish breaking, beware. It could be a symptom that she is nearby. According to rumors and legends, she is the Ghost of Shokkiwari, a spirit of a slave girl in Japan.

One day, she accidentally broke a very beautiful vase that belonged to her master. Enraged, the master lost his temper and punished her cruelly. He cut her and threw her into a well, condemning her to die.

On that night, the master heard the sound of something breaking. When he woke up and look outside he saw a ghost on the same well, the ghost of a girl with white skin and long black hair. There were two demon hand coming from behind her and she was soaking wet. He realized that this ghost was the same girl he had killed, and she had come to seek revenge.

A chilling scream echoed throughout the area. When people came to investigate, they found the master dead with a terrified expression. Every single bone in his body was broken.

According to some rumors, if someone accidentally breaks something and another person reacts with anger, the person who reacts has until nightfall to apologize to the offended person. Otherwise, they might be visited by Shokkiwari the same vengeful spirit and suffer a similar fate as the master.
