Lady and the Tramp is a truly beautiful film about two dogs falling in love have a family and live happily ever after. Lady lives a luxurious life before one day her owners, Jim Dear and Darling, bring a baby home which upsets her and drives her away. One day Tramp, a stray dog, arrives on the scene and tells Lady ‘when a baby moves in, a dog moves out’ which scares Lady. Aunt Sarah comes home to look after Lady whilst Jim and Darling are away, she brings her Siamese cats to the house which cause hell and havoc, they break multiple objects in the home and blame it on Lady. Aunt Sarah has Lady taken away which pleases the Siamese cats. Tramp quickly hears of this, frees Lady from the kennel and Lady returns home. As they do, they see a rat in the baby's room which Tramp fights and gets rid of leading him to be the hero of the film. Jim and Darling let him into the family home and they all live happily ever after. A classic movie with an outstanding musical score with a few scenes leaving some of its audiences with nightmares for years to come.

1. The Siamese Cats

The music from the film is fantastic but the Siamese Cat song certainly comes number one in being the creepiest. As soon as the cats came out the bag Lady had no idea how much trouble she would be in. The cats launch into a sinister and terrifying song about how evil they are.

The lyrics in the song show how wicked they really are. They firstly see a fish and intend to kill it.

“Do you see that thing swimming round and round, Maybe we can reaching in and make it drown, If we sneaking up upon him carefully, There will be a head for you and a tail for me”

Then they want to try and steal the babies milk.

“Do you hear what I hear, It’s a baby cry, Where we find a baby there’s milk near by, And if we look in baby buggy there could be, Plenty of milk for you and maybe some for me”

They then chase Lady around the house breaking numerous objects and then when Aunt Sarah comes to see what the commotion is, she sees both cats lying on the ground wailing in pain making it look like Lady has harmed them. Aunt Sarah sees red and has Lady taken away and muzzled which leads to Lady running away and bumping into Tramp who helps her. A victory for the Siamese cats. There cunningness, craftiness and destructiveness paid off and they got what they wanted. The perfect villains of the movie.

2. The Rat

Later on in the movie Lady returns home after Aunt Sarah claims her and Lady lies lonely and depressed in the backyard. She witnesses a rat enter the house so immediately goes berserk to get Aunt Sarah’s attention. Aunt Sarah ignores her and tells her to be quiet. Tramp appears from nowhere; Lady tells him about the rat so Tramp springs into action and runs into the house to confront the rat. Things turn dark very quickly. He finds the rat in the baby room and a fight quickly breaks out. Lady escapes the back yard and runs into the house to witness the brawl in the bedroom. The rat attempts to jump into the baby’s crib but Tramp jumps on it and chases it behind a curtain where he kills it. A much-needed ending for this tragic scene. Tramp emerges from the curtain with a limp but lucky to have survived this heated struggle. Quite a harrowing and distressing scene for its younger audiences.

When Jim Dear and Darling return home they take a great liking to Tramp and take him into the family home. He and Lady have a family of their own and everyone lives happily ever after. Thanks Walt for another great movie to remember!
