Scared of the Dark Yet?

It was dark. Not nighttime dark, which was comforting compared to this. This is the kind of dark where your only flashlight can't even bring light to the corners of the smallest room in your house. It was nighttime, but nowhere near as dark. You can hear your brother yelling in the other room, forced to use his phone as a flashlight, as you were doing as well. You make your way towards him, and go to the living room, where he is most likely complaining about the tv being off. When you shine your light into the room, however, he isn't there. That's weird, You think. The dogs started barking outside, but that's normal. Maybe the neighbor's dog is outside. You walk outside and see your parents sitting at the umbrella table talking. All of a sudden, they stop. You hear a low growling sound, kind of like some kind of truck, that seemed far away. Then silence. It's too silent for your liking. You're thankful when the silence is interrupted by the tell-tale sound of an airplane passing overhead, though something seemed a little off about it. You watch the airplane turn in a wide arc shape and hear gunshots that could only be from the plane. You run to the fence but see nothing. You thought you were just imagining the machine-gun airplane, but out of the corner of your eye you see movement, followed by another growly roar that was so much louder, you have no choice but to cover your ears. In the Blood Moon's light, you see the creature. It's huge, with dark scales covering its entire dog-like body and head. The only thing that was bright on it was its eyes, large as light pole lights, and glowing neon red, which was light enough to see its very small, slit pupils. It opened its mouth, showing very large, very sharp white teeth and bit the plane, tearing it in half as easily as you'd bite into a carrot. The plane fell, part of it crashing on the ground on your shed, which meant the creature was closer than you thought. More noisy airplanes arrived, followed by gunfire and growly roars that ended in the planes being torn apart. You run back inside to warn your brother, but you forgot your flashlight. You go outside again and see the creature is even closer. Four whip-thin tails wave around it like tentacles, uprooting trees, planes and cable towers. The dogs were still barking at the creature, trying to get close enough to nip at it's legs. Sirens started blaring in the distance and the creature stepped forward, its giant clawed paws making deep scratch marks in the ground. On its back were long, thin spines, which a plane was shooting at. One of the spines broke. Too close, you think as the broken spine piece hits the ground next to you, sharp end first so it stuck up out of the ground. You run towards the door, dropping your flashlight as you slam it. Inside, you see a short figure moving slightly. It's your brother. You walk towards him, but then a deep growl comes from his direction. Afraid, you attempt to grab his hand and bring him to the other room, but he won't budge. You pull on his arm, tugging him with you, and you feel him move. You walk with him towards the front of the house, but something isn't right. You look down and see that you're holding a bloody arm. You scream and drop the arm, then quickly cover your mouth. You hear a humming sound and look up, seeing your parents standing and looking at you. They look a bit slacked, and a bit of a rotting smell seems to be coming from somewhere. You know you need to get out of there, but you're cornered. Suddenly, your parents are floating, as if they're being controlled by a puppeteer. You hear a growling sound and see neon red eyes, followed by sharp white teeth. All turns agonizing red as the dark red creatures start eating you alive. You scream as one bites your arm and another bites your leg off, but your cries go unheard. I should have stayed outside, you think. Then everything is black.
