The Dakota was an old, worsening structure that had formerly been a grand apartment complex in the heart of the megacity. It was said to be visited by the ghost of a woman who was always heard crying, indeed though no bone had ever seen her. The structure had a dark history, and numerous had rumored about the strange circumstances that took place within its walls. Despite the rumors, there were still a many stalwart souls who dared to call the Dakota their home.

One of these stalwart souls was a youthful woman named Nicole. She was an aspiring pen, and she had always been drawn to the strange and mysterious. When she heard about the rumors of the crying lady in the Dakota, she knew that she had to see it for herself.

She moved into the structure, eager to uncover the secrets that lay hidden within its walls. At first, Nicole wasn't sure what she had gotten herself into. The structure was old and creaky, and there was a strange, musty smell that sounded to loiter in the air. She tried to ignore it and concentrate on her jotting, but she soon began to hear strange noises in the night.

They started out as soft whispers, but they soon grew louder, until they came riots of terror. She could hear the sound of someone crying, a woman's voice that was filled with pain and despair. Despite her fear, Nicole was determined to uncover the verity. She began to probe, talking to the other residers of the Dakota and reading old review papers about the structure's history.

She learned that the crying lady was said to be the ghost of a woman who had lived in the structure numerous times ahead. She had been driven to madness by the loss of her child, and it was said that she had taken her own life in the structure. Her ghost was said to still hang the Dakota, crying for her lost child and seeking vengeance on those who dared to enter her home.

Nicole was skeptical, but she couldn't ignore the strange events that were passing around her. She began to witness strange fancies and agonies, and she felt as though she was being watched. She could hear the crying lady, always in the background, a constant memorial of the terror that lurked within the structure.

One night, as she was working on her jotting, she heard a knock at the door. She dithered for a moment, but when the knocking persisted, she eventually got up to see who was there. To her horror, she set up herself face to face with the crying lady. Her face was twisted in a grotesque expression of pain and madness, and her eyes were filled with abomination. Nicole screamed in terror and ran back to her apartment, but when she turned around, the lady was standing right behind her. Nicole was trapped, with nowhere to run. The crying lady reached out to snare her, and Nicole felt the cold, glacial touch of her hand. She closed her eyes, bracing herself for the end, but when she opened them again, she was no longer in the Dakota.

She was in a dark, strange place, and she was filled with a sense of dread. She was in the ghostly realm, where the crying lady's spirit still floated. Nicole was at her mercy, and she knew that she wasn't going to leave this place alive. The crying lady approached her, her voice echoing through the darkness." Why did you come then?" she demanded." Why did you come to my home and stir up the recollections of my misplaced child?"

Nicole tried to explain, but the crying lady would not hear. She was consumed by her grief and wrathfulness, and she was determined to take her vengeance. Nicole screamed, soliciting for mercy,
