"Oh, how beautiful you are, my lady!" Lily smiled at the young girl, who was known to be the most beautiful young girl in the empire. The black-haired beauty walked down the staircase.

Her bright purple eyes shimmered like jewels. "Oh, you flatter me, Lily." "I do hope that my debut goes well." The girl spoke with slight concern. "Lady Ellesta, you are the beauty of the empire, the Salon duchy's pride and joy." "You'll shine the brightest tonight." Lily gave the sixteen-year-old a warm smile as she followed Ellesta towards the carriage that awaited her.

"Is Father not attending?" "I thought he would be my escort." The ravenette asked, and that made all the servants uncomfortable because they knew that the Duke was not going to attend. It was quite a pity that the man did not even bother to attend his own daughter's debut. Ellesta was, however, a very sweet girl and just let it slide as always. "He must be quite busy; well, it can't be helped." The girl spoke and gently sat in the carriage.

"I can't believe her debut is held during their vacation. It is quite a misfortune." The maid mumbled as they were nearing their destination. The castle shone as bright as gold. It was quite a majestic day for the young girl. Her stomach filled with butterflies as she beamed like a little child. As her name was announced at the entrance to the ball, everyone's attention turned towards the young girl.

They were enchanted by her beauty and thought that such a beautiful young girl was known to be a saint for her kindness. She walked down the stairs elegantly and was immediately approached by the young maidens from different families, which overwhelmed the female. She was flooded with compliments as the girl conversed with everyone with joy.

Everything was properly arranged by the royal family, and tonight's special event was when each girl was given a gift that would ensure that her future would shine as brightly as her family's name. Ellesta was given a necklace with a purple gem that was shaped like a heart. She was honoured by this piece of jewellery but felt an odd sensation when the Queen graced her with such a gift.

The queen was known to be beautiful, but she was also known to be blind. Despite all her luxurious things, she couldn't have the luxury of sight. She could not see the young girl but had heard of her beauty, so the wise woman decided to ask for a request from the little girl. "Will such a beautiful lady put it on for me?" "I personally chose this necklace for you, Lady Salon." The queen smiled at the ravenette. The queen was known as the goddess of love. "It would be my honor, your highness." The girl smiled and placed the necklace on, but the moment she placed it on her neck, she felt a weird yet exciting sensation.

The event ended shortly after as each and everyone of the guests returned to their residences; however, in Ellesta's case, they made their way back to the vacation manor. She was supposed to head back to their own estate in a few days after the rose festival at the capital ended.

Ellesta didn't feel tired at all, even though she felt weak just some time ago. She felt a sense of power and energy running through her veins. The girl felt an attachment to her new necklace and didn't want to take it off for some reason. "Lady Ellesta, let me help you take that necklace off. It'll help you rest peacefully at night." Lily spoke as she reached her hand out to unhook the clip of the necklace.

"No! It's mine!" Ellesta yelled, surprising the older female as the younger female had never acted like this before. "Oh, okay, miss," Ellesta would have felt bad, but for some reason she felt a new sense of confidence that she didn't know she had.

"Oh, by the way, did Father come back home?" The girl smiled at her maid, but only her smile felt different. "Oh yes, he's in his study." Lily spoke as Ellesta got up and walked towards the door. "Your in your nightgown right now, the Duke would--" "Since when did you run your mouth around, huh?" It's my choice to see my father or not. "Now lead the way, Lily." The girl glared at the woman.

This behaviour was all new to the older female, and she was quite concerned and worried for the child. But none the less, she gave in to her request; after all, Lily was a mere servant.

Ellesta opened the doors to her father's study, which left everyone shocked. Ellesta wasn't feeling like herself.

But this new feeling made her feel like she was unstoppable. Despite the shocked looks she got from everyone, including her father, she sat down on the couch in her father's study.

"I waited for you, father." That was all she said as her father sent a glare her way. "Ellesta, what is this behavior? It seems like I would have to talk to your etiquette teacher. A lady should," he was cut off by the girl, "a father should at least show a hint of concern toward his daughter."

"What?!" The male with silver-colored hair marched towards his daughter, looking enraged. "Oh, please, father." "Where's the etiquette?" She spoke with a smirk.

The Duke excused all the servants, as now only he and his daughter remained in the room. "You ungrateful brat!" "I give you a life of wealth where you don't even have to move a finger, and this is how you repay me!"

"Well, I didn't ask for it now, did I?" "I can't be your perfect glass doll all the time, now can I?" She spoke as a slap was heard.

A stinging pain was felt at the side of the girl's face. She glared up at her father and didn't realise what she was doing, and in the moment, her thoughts were clouded by anger when she grabbed the sword that was tied to her father's side and stabbed him with it.

"Don't talk to me like that." "Oh wait, now you won't be able to say a word at all, father." The girl ended with a chuckle. Her sleeves were bloody, as some of her father's blood splattered on her face as she kept stabbing him with the sword.

Finally, stepping away, she looked at her hands. "Well, this is a mess." She spoke, looking disgusted. "I feel so much better." She spoke in a sarcastic tone and slowly headed towards the door.

The only people who were up during this hour were Lily and a few guards. She slowly walked out, only to see Lily there. The brunette turned pale at the girl's sight and almost let out a scream.

"Lily, shush. Don't worry, it's not my blood." The girl spoke as Lily looked horrified and fell to her knees; she could not recognise the girl in front of her. What had happened to the kind and innocent girl who was jumping with joy just a few hours ago?

"Lily, you can keep my secret, right?" Ellesta asked, looking all innocent, but anyone could see that glow in her eyes that was definitely not a sign of sanity.

Obviously, the woman in front of her was speechless and didn't utter a word. "Lily, you're getting on my nerves. I know you're not mute or deaf." "You know what? I gave you a chance, but I guess two can keep a secret only if one of them is dead." The girl smiled as she walked over to her maid and slit her throat without a second thought.

"Oh, my, what a pity. This terrible smell is just making things worse! It's not my fault anyway! She was the one acting so dumb!" The girl spoke to herself while making her way out of the place, only to encounter many of the staff on her way.

Everyone seemed scared of her, but she wasn't going to just let them mock her, which is what she thought, and one by one she took the lives of everyone at the mansion.

"Idiots! They think they are better than me. I'm the most beautiful and the most powerful in the empire! How dare you defy me, you fool!" The girl yelled as she massacred the entire manor, finally sitting down in the pool of blood around her.

She stared at herself in the mirror and felt the necklace glow a bright purple as it started to burn her neck. She immediately ripped it off of her burning neck, and that's when everything made sense again.

The young girl, who was as childish as a summer's day, had her eyes pooling with water as her face felt wet. staring at every dead body around her.

She didn't want to believe what she did, but all she thought about in that moment was the necklace, which she slammed across the floor. She was tricked, but for what? She had been kind her entire life.

She couldn't live with what she had done and decided to kill herself with the same sword she used to murder her own father.

Her last memory was staring at her beautiful face in the mirror, all broken down, just like a beautiful red rose. What haunted her was that it wasn't just the necklace; it was her own resentment that led her to this point.

And with that thought, she pushed the sword right into her heart.

It was a still night as the rose fell to the floor. Someone walked into the manor with a slight smirk plastered on their face.

It was truly a sight to see and it filled the women with delight. She slightly bent down and picked up the necklace of destruction, noticing that the girl was still slightly moving and wasn't a corpse yet.

The female bent down and spoke in her ear, "Sweet dreams, my rose." "I loved that expression on your face; it was truly a reminder that all roses have their thorns." The woman spoke as she picked up the sword and finally ended the beautiful girl.

Fixing her crown and dress, she walked out of there. with the most powerful duchy destroyed behind her. It was the perfect day for the red rose festival.
