Kasey -

Kasey reminisced the most about that memory and memories of winning numerous sporting championships in archery later in life. They were notable instances from Kasey's winning days.

Kasey could only imagine the arrow flying directly in the center of her bullseye target sheet in her stillness as she tried to find a happy spot among the frenzy. Kasey's mind began to build a path to an exit in the worst-case situation when something dangerous occurred.

The college dropout had heard for months that nuclear reactors in Northern and Southern Carolina were closing down. There had been a lot more happening on at those nuclear reactors than the shuttle leak described on the emergency news broadcast – when the governors of Northern and Southern Carolina issued a political statement.

These were the same governors that sought to calm down the protesting citizenry and prevent these scientific freight trains from reaching their destination months earlier. Kasey hoped that once things calmed down, she might get some practice in before heading to Mercy Hospital to visit her ailing grandma in the upstate North Carolina city.

Old Rob -

"Life has an interesting way of showing you how much it cares when you least expect it." At the very least, this was a mentality that Old Rob retained with him into his final years. Diagrams transmitted to passengers and photographs of a novel microbe developed by scientists were displayed on small television displays throughout the double-decker commercial bus.

In South and North Carolina, they were injected into death row and life-sentenced convicts. In the emergency news podcast, Old Rob noticed that by merging tissue samples of rare microscopic Hungarian Meso tardigrades and several pieces of Canadian cordyceps zombie fungus spores, a new species may be generated as a unique bioweapon.

Because of the new bacteria mutation, this bioweapon would develop in the host's body, draining nutrition and stealing their thoughts, leaving the jaw unhinged from the skull. The emergency news program described how North Carolina scientists collaborated with a team of South Carolina botanists to develop a strategy for keeping Hungarian Meso tardigrades inactive in subfreezing conditions. The samples of Canadian cordyceps zombie fungus spores would be deposited onto the frozen specimens, and a chemical compound reaction would result in something horrifying and uncontrollably adaptive.

This new American science team completed a scientific breakthrough, according to the emergency news broadcaster. The governors of North and South Carolina attempted these scientific studies in order to control and influence any labor rules in the prison system, as well as reuse the corpses of death row or life inmates as a fresh combustible resource.

After seeing the emergency news report, Old Rob came to the conclusion that if any of these death row inmates were injected and their bodies were not properly disposed of, the residual viruses would trigger a massive death toll that may sweep the nation. Worrying about his retirement plan and his family's safety also struck a gloomy chord in Old Rob's mind at the time. As disagreements and shouting broke out among the passengers on the commercial bus, the chaos intensified. Old Rob turned and went to his possessions, pulling out a pair of binoculars from a little black suede bag.

More breaking news was presented on the commercial bus's small television monitors, indicating apparent mass hysteria in town. Since their escape from the North Carolina station, a party of freedom fighters has been chasing cargo trains.
