Amanda and Josh think the old house they have just moved into is weird. Spooky. Possibly haunted. And the town of Dark Falls is pretty strange, too. — But their parents don't believe them. You'll get used to it, they say. Go out and make some new friends. — So Amanda and Josh do. But these creepy new friends are not exactly what their parents had in mind.

"Welcome to dead house", written by R.L.Stine, is the first book in the original Goosebumps series originally released in 1992 also book thirteen in a spin off series called Goosebumps classic which was released in 2010. It is a children's chapter book recommended for elementary school children.

It opens with a family of four. The two children's are the lead characters, who's names are Amanda who is twelve years old and her younger brother Josh who is eleven. This story is told through Amanda's eyes. She takes us from the beginning to how upset her and her brother were moving and about the family moving to a new house in a new city called Dark Falls. The family is informed their father had a great aunt who he never heard of leave them a giant house in Dark falls. So naturally the family decide to move there. They are Greeted by a real estate agent, Mr. Dawes, who hands over the keys to their new home.

The kids start to get comfortable in their new house and that is when stuff starts going weird and the house becomes more creepy that what it started out to be. The kids tell their parents that the house is haunted but the parents don't believe them at all. kids start to meet other kids and they seem to not be as normal as they should be. They meet a neighbor kid named Ray who starts introducing them to other kids. After meeting Ray Amanda started seeing more and more weird things happen. All these kids they met know about the house Josh and Amada moved into. Everyone you meet in this town is like no other people you meet. They realize the all the kids are ghost who all moved into the same house Amanda and Josh moved into and died there as well. leaving that house to be know as dead house cause it kills everyone that move into it. The children find out the house is haunted as well as the town and its up to the kids to save their parents from a haunted town. After realizing everything is not as it seems the ending leave you kid of guessing in a way. Does the Family Survive and what happens next?

I would recommend this book to children and adults who like horror I actually enjoyed reading it. This book is one I would mark as a must read. A lot of action and adventure throughout the story. After reading this book I kept thinking to myself how did this story come together. It is a typical haunted house story. I feel the reason it stuck out from other stories was because it was from a child's perspective who didn't want to move to begin with. It was different for me due to reading a story though a child's eye and trying to understand why the kids didn't feel like it was fair. I will be looking forward to reading more Goosebumps books as well as anything R.L. Stine has written. I am always told R.L. Stine is the king of children's horror stories. The story line was in my eyes quite genius.
