One Of The Best Slasher Movies Many Have Forgotten

When people think or talk about the best slasher movies, they talk about Michael Myers, Jason, Freddy Krueger, or even Candy Man. There's one movie that a lot of people have forgotten about...Thir13en Ghosts.

Thir13en Ghosts is one of the most underrated horror movies of all time. It's full of blood, gore and some of the best on screen kills ever. Let me give you a run down of the movie.

The movie started out in a junkyard where a mad scientist by the name of Cyrus is trying to capture a vengeful soul by the name of the Juggernaut that murders everyone that enters the junkyard. He's accompanied by several of his workers and a man by the name of Dennis that helps him find the souls by his gift of foresight. The objective is to capture the soul in the glass box inscribed in Latin words to keep it enclosed. Things didn't go quite as planned though because before they trapped the soul in the box, he went on murderous rampage and killed everyone out there except two people. Cyrus appeared to be dead as well...everything isn't always as it seems.

Fast forward to the scene where Cyrus nephew inherit the house that was previously owned by his dead uncle. It's a dream come true to him and his son and daughter. The pull up to the house and the guy Dennis from the beginning of the movie is standing outside acting like an electrician so that he can get into the home. In this house, there's 12 souls imprisoned in the basement. The only way you can see the ghosts is if you wear a special pair of glasses. Come to find out, the uncle only gave his nephew the home so that he could be part of his wicked plan to have him be the 13th ghost and be part of the uncles plan. The on screen kills in this move are gross and realistic looking. You have a man getting split in half straight down the middle, a man was folded in half through a semi closed trunk, throats were cut etc...there was blood everywhere. Now that I've given you the details of the setting and plot, it's time to talk about the vengeful souls that will cause havoc on the family. I will also discuss how they died and it will be obvious why some of these souls are so vengeful.

The first ghost is the First Born Son. Billy Michaels was a little boy that died one day when his brother shot him in the head with an arrow by mistake. He may not seem like much of a threat, but if you get close enough to him and rub him the wrong way, it'll be your biggest regret.

The second ghost is The Torso. Jimmy Gambino was a man that was a heavy gambler back in the 1900's. He gets around by walking on his hands and scooting on the floor. He ran into some trouble with the mob and they cut his body into tiny pieces, decapitated him and wrapped his body parts in plastic wrap.

The third ghost is The Bound Woman. Susan LeGrow was a rich popular woman that loved to play mind games with men. She was killed by an angry ex after catching her cheating with another man. She was still wrapped in the rope that she was tied up with during her murder and she doesn't being disturbed.

The fourth ghost is The Withered Lover. Jean Kriticos was the wife of the nephew that Cyrus left the house to. She died at a hospital in a fire a year before all of the madness started. Even after death, she still held on to her mother role and treated people kindly.

The fifth ghost is The Torn Prince. Royce Clayton was a very skilled teenage baseball player that was setup by a guy that was his competitor in baseball. He died in a car accident when the competitor cut his breaks in his car. He's still very angry and will knock your head off your shoulders with one hit.

The sixth ghost is The Angry Princess. Dana Newman was a beautiful woman but insecure and loved receiving plastic surgery. The Angry Princess died from killing herself with a butcher while taking a bath. She still carries around the knife and will cut you if you get too close.

The seventh ghost is The Pilgrimess. Isabella Smith was a colonist that traveled from England in hopes of a better life in North America. She died of starvation after being put in a pillory because people believed she was a witch. She will chase you but will not be able to cause you any harm because she is till trapped in the pillory.

The eighth ghost is The Great Child. Harold Shelburne was a man that had a disability. Even as an adult, he was still in diapers and still had to be spoon fed by his mom. After being picked on by people, he killed a bunch of people at the circus where he worked with his mom. After the massacre, the circus owner had Harold cut up to the point you couldn't tell who he was. Even after death, he still walks around in his diaper and carries around the ax he used to kill people at the circus.

The ninth ghost is The Dire Mother. Margaret Shelburne was Harold's mom. She had a difficult time standing up for herself. She was raped by one of the men she worked with at the circus and that is how she had Harold. She died from being killed by some of the circus performers. Even in death, she still takes care of her son Harold.

The tenth ghost is The Hammer. George Markeley was a blacksmith that was accused of stealing. A man named Nathan tried to get him to live their town and when he ignored him, he lynched his family. George killed the people responsible and in return, the town people chained him up and pushed railroad spikes into his body. They also cut his hand off and shoved the stick of the hammer in hand. He's definitely not a friendly ghost. His weapon is his hammer and he's not afraid to use it.

The eleventh ghost is The Jackal. Ryan Khun was a very sick man that enjoyed attacking and raping prostitutes. He went to an institute hoping that it would cure his issues but it only fueled his fire even more. He went completely insane and this made the asylum lock his head in a metal cage. The asylum burned down and he decided to stay behind and die in the fire. This ghost is hell on wheels. Out of all the ghost, I think he one of the absolute worst. He's super fast, aggressive and will claw your eyes out if he catches you.

The twelfth ghost is The Juggernaut. Horace Mahoney was born with his face deformed. His mother neglected him when he was little and sent him to his father. His dad had him working in the junkyard with his because he was good at crushing cars. After he lost his dad, he went on a killing spree and tore up people with his hands. The cops shot him in the junkyard after he escaped from his handcuffs. His ghost was still at the junkyard until Cyrus captured him. Now he is the worst ghost of them all. He has the strength of 10 men and will crush you with his bare hands.

The thirteenth ghost was supposed to be Cyrus's nephew. If you watch the movie, you'll see what happened and why I said things aren't always what they seem to be.
