My Security Camera Recorded Something Impossible
It showed me sleeping… while I was watching it live.

I installed the cameras after the second break-in on my street.
Nothing had happened to my house, but the police report was enough to make me uneasy. So I bought a mid-range system, nothing fancy—just four cameras covering the front door, backyard, hallway, and bedroom. I told myself it was for peace of mind.
For the first few nights, I checked the live feed obsessively. Every creak of the house felt louder. Every shadow felt suspicious. But slowly, things settled. The cameras showed nothing but empty rooms and quiet darkness.
Until Thursday night.
I was lying on my couch, half-asleep, scrolling through my phone when I opened the camera app out of habit. I tapped on the bedroom feed.
And froze.
There I was—on the screen—sleeping in my bed.
I frowned and sat up. That didn’t make sense. I hadn’t gone to bed yet. I was still in the living room.
I looked down at myself, then back at the screen.
Same clothes. Same gray hoodie. Same position.
My heart started to pound.
“Okay… maybe it’s just a delay,” I muttered.
I refreshed the feed.
The image flickered for a second, then came back.
Still me.
Still sleeping.
But something was… off.
The angle wasn’t quite right. The lighting seemed darker than it should have been. And then I noticed something that made my stomach drop.
The bedroom door in the video was open.
I always closed it before lying down.
Slowly, I stood up from the couch and turned toward the hallway. My house was silent. Too silent.
I took a step forward.
Then another.
The floor creaked under my weight, louder than usual. My breathing felt heavy in my ears.
As I reached the hallway, I glanced back at my phone.
The feed hadn’t changed.
I was still there. Sleeping. Motionless.
I swallowed hard and moved toward the bedroom door.
It was closed.
Completely shut.
My hand hovered over the knob. For a moment, I hesitated.
Then I pushed it open.
The room was empty.
The bed was perfectly made, untouched.
No one was inside.
I stepped back, my pulse racing. My hands were shaking now.
“This isn’t real,” I whispered.
I looked down at my phone again.
The feed still showed me in bed.
But this time… the figure moved.
Just slightly.
My chest tightened as I watched.
The “me” on the screen shifted under the blanket, then slowly turned its head toward the camera.
Toward me.
Its eyes opened.
I dropped the phone.
It hit the floor with a sharp crack, but I couldn’t look away. My gaze snapped back to the bedroom.
Still empty.
I bent down slowly and picked up the phone again.
The feed was still active.
The thing that looked like me was no longer lying still.
It was sitting up now.
Its head tilted at an unnatural angle, staring directly into the lens.
Then it smiled.
Not a normal smile.
Too wide. Too slow.
I stumbled backward, nearly losing my balance.
“This isn’t happening,” I said again, louder this time.
But deep down, I knew it was.
The camera wasn’t glitching.
It was showing something real.
Something that shouldn’t exist.
My phone buzzed in my hand.
A notification from the camera app:
“Motion detected: Bedroom.”
I felt a cold wave rush through my body.
Slowly—very slowly—I turned my head toward the open bedroom door.
And that’s when I heard it.
A soft creak.
From inside the room.
I forced myself to look.
The bed was no longer empty.
Someone was sitting on it.
A dark silhouette, barely visible in the shadows.
It didn’t move at first.
Then—
In a voice that sounded exactly like mine, it whispered:
“You’re not supposed to see this.”
My breath caught in my throat.
The figure stood up.
Step by step, it began walking toward the door.
Toward me.
My legs refused to move. My mind screamed at me to run, but I couldn’t.
I glanced at my phone one last time.
The camera feed showed the hallway now.
Showed me standing there.
Frozen.
And behind me—
The thing stepped out of the bedroom.
Smiling.
Watching.
Waiting.
The screen went black.
And in the silence of my house, I felt something standing just inches behind me.
Breathing. write by hasnain pathan
