My experience with the Randonautica game!

I’m sharing my experience with a specific application (app) that has become increasingly more popular during quarantine. The action is Randonauting and this app is called, RANDONAUTICA!

Randonauting is the act of using the Randonautica app to generate truly random locations sourced with quantum entropy. The user can then choose to venture to these locations to see what they find. They often discover that what they see lines up with their intention, which is what they were thinking about when they generated the point. But even if this doesn’t happen, it’s a way to mindfully explore the world around them.

Rumour has it

Rumour has it that this application has been built, design, created by the dark web, or has it? On July 7,2020 the National Post did publish an article about TikTok user in Seattle that have been lead to a suitcase containing human remains. Other people such as YouTubers have mentioned that the app is dangerous and some event went to say that they felt followed while playing the game.

I was intrigued by this app and decided to watch more video’s related to it. All I could find was video’s with titles that are promoting the Randonautica app as dangerous, dark and designed from the dark web.

Because I’m attracted to all things paranormal, supernatural, scary, spooky or all things that are at a mystery level, I decided to try it out by making video for my Youtube Channel in order to see what was Randonautica and if it was really as they say it was…dangerous.

My first experience Randonauting

I took my friend with me for my first Randonautica adventure as it is mention in the app that we should not randonaut alone. Yes the app does give out some guidelines to follow in order to play this game safely and reading those guidelines was the first thing we did. Those pro tips are as followed:

• Randonaut with a positive mindset

• Bring a trash bag to help the environment

• If you normally wouldn’t adventure alone, go with a friend or group

• Randonauting is best done as a daytime activity

• Always randonaut with a charged phone

• Use situational awareness

• Be respectful of property owners. Never trespass

• Obey all quarantine, curfew and social distancing regulations in you area

• Do not go into dangerous areas

I have to admit that the second one got me worried at first, as I never seen pro tips that mention such a thing.

First run

In order to make this work, we have to think about an intent (goal) that we want to find. Our first intent was something not to scary (just in case this thing did work), the intent in question was; weird. A location was provided to us and we departed for our first run.

We had to walk a short distance in the woods and go over a barbed wire fence with the help of a ladder that was just sitting there, as if the application wanted us to go over and get to our location. Well believe it or not, we found an abandoned camp fire.

Finding this got us really excited and gave us a rush to try another run. However, the second run was on a private property, therefore, we did not want to trespass, so we moved on for a third try.

Third run

We moved forward on our third intent and again it pointed to a private property. After reflection we decided to go and have a look and maybe we will discover something that is near that property. As we arrived at the location, we where without words as the image below is what we discovered.

Overall

Is this game dangerous? No it is not, we did 3 intent and we did pay attention to see if we where followed and no, we where not followed. We did not find an old suite case waiting for use to pick up, we definitely did not find a dead body or notes that where treating our lives like in the other video’s out there.

I’m not sure how this game is able to bring us to such locations, perhaps we have been lucky. I’m sure that there are some hits and miss while playing the game. I believe that this game has no dark intention nor has it been created by the dark web as some say. In fact, I did find an online interview with the founders of Randonautica and the idea behind it all, is just to get people to go out, explore and have fun.

I have to admit, although some of the video’s out there might be fake, they are very much entertaining if you enjoy mystery, horror, supernatural and all that good stuff.
