"Kai," she yelled as she caught sight of him and his long dark brown, wavy hair and bright smile. She ran towards him, her tears glistening her face. Joy, relief, content, and sadness ran through her veins. She could see no one else as he outstretched his arms awaiting her touch. But something seemed wrong as she approached him, getting closer and closer. His eyes were coal black and churning with emotion she didn't quite recognize on him. His arms looked more threatening than embracing. Was it all her imagination? He looked dark and filled with twisted evil. His lips, no longer a loving smile, showed a snarled, evil, smirk. She was now standing face to face with him. This isn’t Kai, she thought. Her heart beat faster as she tried to take a step back. But he already had a tight grip on her forearm. His touch felt like ice. She shivered as she felt the pulse of evil shudder through her body. His cold hands wrapped around her neck. She felt her lungs contract as she tried to breathe. She tried yelling for help but couldn’t find enough air to make words. Why isn’t anyone helping me?! Someone help! Can’t you see me? Why can’t you see me, she thought wildly. She could see the tourists and city people walking past in her peripheral vision. She saw the taxi screech to a halt before it could hit the pedestrian. She saw the lights change from green to red. Why couldn’t anyone else see her? She felt herself slipping. Slipping into a dark instated trance. She had no strength in her. No one would save her. Here stood the love of her life, her best friend, strangling her to death. His twisted, evil smile and coal black eyes would be the last thing she ever saw. Burned into her eternal memory. At last, she struggled to breathe out her last breath and closed her eyes. This is it, she thought, I forgive you Kai. I love you... and she sank into an eternal, dark oblivion.

Kai let go and left her dead and bruised body on the street. He walked away without an ounce of emotion. He felt a cold, invisible hand reach in through his chest and grip his heart. He let out a ragged gasp. The hand wrenched and twisted his heart and he let out a cry of pain. Tears stung his eyes and he fell to his knees. He heard a loud echoing voice in his head. It made his ears ring and his body shudder. “You are now mine. A servant to my evil. You will never love and you will never be loved. These mortal pests you call human, the people who you were once like, will soon decease. You will kill, rip, and destroy everything that touched the light. You are destined for great things. You will serve for the greater evil. We are one. And as one, we will rule this Earth!”

The cold hand around his heart slithered out with the cold and along with the voice in his head. His head still throbbed and he felt sick. He struggled to stand up and finally managed to; only to collapse under the weight of gravity. He curled himself up into a ball as a few memories of his own returned to him. Including the murder of his one true love. He sobbed as he curled himself into a tighter ball. “I killed her. Oh my God, I killed her! No. No, this can’t be happening… What was her name again? Clarissa? May? Katy? Sarah,” he questioned as a calm cold washed over him. He slowly began to forget again as his body was once more possessed by evil. It consumed him faster than oil lit to flame. “That’s right, son, just forget. Everything is easier if you just forget,” a new soothing voice said in his head. Kai slowly stood up. He glanced at the girl’s body once more and trudged down the street with a new feeling of calm. A calm that would cause the destruction of the Earth. A calm that was so deadly, so evil, and so inhuman. The sky above darkened, leaving the evidence of his existence to a world of darkness and shadows.
