Lost for Three Minutes: The Mysterious Phone Call Story

✅ "One call. Three minutes. A chilling mystery you won’t forget."

By RAYHAN SEIKHPublished about a year ago • 2 min read

It was 3 AM when my phone lit up, showing an unfamiliar number. I was startled at first because it was so late—who would call me at this hour? My hand reached instinctively for the phone, still groggy from sleep. The screen displayed “Unknown Number.”

I hesitated for a moment. Why would someone be calling me now, in the middle of the night? But something told me I had to answer. I swiped the screen, and without even thinking, I pressed the green button to pick up.

“Hello?” I said, my voice still thick with sleep.

The voice on the other end was deep and calm, almost too calm. “Can you make it on time?” it asked.

I was silent for a moment, not understanding what the voice meant. The person continued, their tone a little more impatient now.

“Three minutes. You don’t have much time.”

My heart began to race. Something wasn’t right. I glanced around the room, trying to make sense of it. Who was calling me at this hour, and why was this person speaking in riddles?

“Who is this? Why are you calling me?” I demanded, my voice shaking with confusion.

There was a pause on the other end. The voice came again, but this time it was a little more irritated.

“Three minutes. You won’t get another chance.”

I felt a shiver run down my spine. What was this person talking about? Time? What was going to happen in three minutes?

“Wait! What do you mean? Why are you calling me?” I said again, trying to gather my thoughts.

The voice didn’t answer immediately, and a strange sense of urgency filled the air. My eyes darted around the room, but everything seemed normal. Still, the phone call felt wrong—like something was coming, something I couldn’t control.

One minute… Two minutes… Three minutes.

The seconds ticked away, and then, just as the third minute passed, the voice returned. But this time, it wasn’t the same voice. A woman’s voice spoke, cold and emotionless.

“You won’t get what you were hoping for. Not anymore.”

And just like that, the call ended.

I sat there in complete silence, the phone still pressed to my ear, but no one was on the other side anymore. My hands were shaking. I didn’t know what had just happened. Was it a prank? Or something worse?

The clock ticked on, but I couldn’t shake the feeling that something had changed. The world around me felt different somehow, as though those three minutes had altered the course of everything.

What was I supposed to do now? And why couldn’t I forget that call?
