Marylin's Revenge
I sat quietly in the pew of the broken-down church, listening to the priest fresh out of college preach yet another cult like sermon. It’d been almost a year since the end of the world had gone into full swing, and many months of Jeremiah manipulating his flock since Father Clayton’s death.

Parasite
The sound of loud footsteps, practically stomping, alerts the red one to his companion’s arrival. The front door is broken; it lies crooked on its hinges, and as such, the blue one can no longer use the slamming of the door to make his presence known. However, he’s always been adaptable, and the sound of his thick boots edging closer to the kitchen is as much as a warning as any.

Fields of Goldenrod
Light no longer existed. The world was one large shadow, and she was sure that was the cause of the chaos; a world of blackness to match the hearts of its inhabitants. People murdered and killed till their bodies were crimson and there just was not a way to scrub themselves clean of their sins. In a world of darkness and hate, she remained.

Mad Cow
I should’ve became Vegan. I live in a world with a bunch of Hipster assholes that think their shit doesn't stink, and why? Because they are Vegan. I love meat. I’ve loved it since I could remember. I remember when I was 4 years old and tried bacon for the first time. God, it was amazingly delicious. I loved the greasiness and the crunchiness of it, so crisp yet such a small little shriveled 1 inch piece of meat. Don’t even get me started with fried chicken, probably the best way to make any kind of meat; fried! But let’s get started on the real problem here…. Beef, Cow, the moo meat. Have you ever heard that cows are bad for the environment? I guess they are not that bad since researchers claimed that “they don’t affect the climate,” but the real truth is... If you pass by cow manure, or someone or something passing gas…. Yeah that’s not good to breathe in. Back to the bigger picture.

The Past Returns
At 23, I moved out of my parents’ old house, finally on my own, free. Even though I was moving into a tiny apartment, the euphoria of getting out of that ancient house was liberating. The strange experiences my sister and I had painfully endured as children in that house faded into the distant past, and even after her funeral, I never fully comprehended what had happened. All I knew is that I never wanted to go through that again; the best I could do was suppress those memories until they were pushed further into the deepest recesses of my mind.

The Scout
“From here on out, you cannot talk back to me.” A young man speaking through my ear piece, he sounds nervous, wonder how many people he has guided through the city. “Adam, I need to know you understand give me a thumbs up infront of your cam if you understand.” I’ll raise my middle finger to the camcorder strapped to my hat. “Very funny.” I thought so too. “Alright, last known feral location is three clicks north, we go in, we confirm their hideout, we leave.” Not my first trip kid, give him a real thumb up this time. “Alright ready when you are.” Time to get to work. The city looks like shit, concreate roads cracked with weeds and grass growing though them, most the windows are all broken shattered on the ground not too much to window shopping these days unless you like skeletons or expired goods. Cars are all abandoned, tires stripped most of them too rusted to work anyway. “You know I have never seen a car work before.” Of course you haven't, you were born after the doom not many running cars around these day. “Alright you want to go left at this intersection.” Would have been easier if he left me a map.

Dreams Under the Ice
Winter, and once again alone on the ice. This was where she came to forget about her troubles. This was where she felt strongest. Guiding power into her legs, Mara glided across the frozen river, leaving little white lines and circle arcs on the surface. The sound of splitting ice spitting snow and carved designs thrilled her in the chilled air. Arms outstretched, bitter wind on her face, she breathed in energy and breathed out art. She shifted her weight, and started flying backwards over the light dusting of snow on the ice. The banks, trees, all brilliant white, deadly silent.

Justine
I have completely lost track of how long I have been huddled in this cold prison of a bunker. I had stopped keeping track around six months into this nightmare when it became clear to me that help was never coming for me. Justine used to make fun of me for having this safe house in the first place. “You’ll never use it.”, she used to say, "It's just taking up space.” Oh, how I wish she had been right. I long for the days when even I had wondered if this whole thing was a mistake, but there's no use in making myself sad over the past.
