Inspector Rishi Review: It Doesn't Scare But Makes You Laugh
Inspector Rishi Amazon Prime Video
A Tamil supernatural horror mystery thriller show named Inspector Rishi was released yesterday on the Prime Video platform. When I saw its poster or trailer, I was personally very excited to watch this series.
And trust me, there are some such moments in the trailer that will definitely force you to watch this series.
Now that I have seen the complete series, the question arises: how is its content, and should you spend your precious time on this series or not? I am going to share all the details, so stay connected.
The story has been almost completely settled in Season 1 itself; if it is a hit, then maybe we audiences will get to see Season 2 also. Secondly, this series is also family-friendly; there are some violent or scary jump-type scenes that can scare normal small children, so avoid watching it with children.
Inspector Rishi Hindi Dubbed
The Hindi dubbing of the lead actors is good, but the dubbing of the supporting cast, like the old grandmother or the shopkeeper, is so pathetic that it means it is difficult to believe that even Prime Video is becoming useless in the matter of dubbing, which means it's Hindi dubbing I felt average; it is very great, I will not say this.
Plot
The story is something like this: there is a huge jungle where step-by-step murders are being performed, and the one who commits murder is a spirit or can be said to be a ghost, which is known by the name of Vanaratchi in that area, which means the villagers say that all the murders that are happening are being committed by Vanaratchi.
So actually, who is Vanaratchi, and what is the mystery history of the character of Inspector Rishi, who is going to investigate this case? At the same time, such a horrible thing has been shown in episode 1 that all the people of the village jump into a fire pit, so why is it so? To know all this, you will have to watch this series.
Inspector Rishi Web Series Review
Now, if I had to define this series for you all in one word, I would just say disappointed. No doubt the concept of this show is very strong, but the way the makers have treated it is very disappointing, which will hardly be able to engage a normal audience. For the experienced audience that has already watched supernatural horror films from around the world, this series will leave them with nothing but disappointment.
The story and characters of the series had a lot of potential, but the way the makers executed it, it would not be able to engage you at all. In the name of mystery, this series presents everything to the audience, but the way its mystery is shown in the show will only bore you.
For six to seven episodes, you will keep trying to find out who Vanaratchi is, and since every episode is very predictable, you will be able to find out in advance who is going to be murdered next.
And when you have predicted everything, then what is the use of suspense?
Now if we're talking about suspense, listen up: the ending twist is really childish. I am pretty sure you might end up pulling your hair out and feeling mad because you spent seven to eight hours watching it, only to be let down.
The characters are interesting, but they do not keep you engaged with the series throughout.
Horror works at some places, but the way Vanaratchi has been treated will remind you of many Hollywood movies or web series. The look of Vanaratchi that has been given and the way she comes in style do not make you feel scared at all, but rather make you laugh.
Conclusion
So Inspector Rishi was a disappointing experience for me, but I will not dissuade you. If you are so inclined and have not seen many supernatural horror thriller masterpieces, then definitely try this show once without keeping your expectations too high.
If you feel good watching two to three episodes, then you can definitely watch all of them.
But if you are a pro audience, then I would just tell you that this is a very childish type of series and you should avoid watching it at all.
Look, we all watch movies for entertainment. If we do not get entertainment while watching cinema, then there is no point in watching such content.
If you've seen the Inspector Rishi series, remember to share your thoughts, both positive and negative. And don't forget to show some love by hitting that heart button and subscribing as well!
