Inhabitants of the Kalimantan Forest

My story

By AlexavierPublished 9 days ago 2 min read

In the heart of the dense island of Kalimantan, there is a forest filled with mystery and wonder. This forest is home to various flora and fauna that depend on each other, creating an extraordinary ecosystem. In this forest lived a young man named Bima, known as the forest guardian.

Bima was not an ordinary guardian. He had a special ability to communicate with the forest animals, a gift inherited from his great-grandfather, a powerful shaman who once lived in this forest. Bima spent most of his life exploring the forest, learning about medicinal plants, and maintaining the balance of nature.

One day, Bima received alarming news from Black Eagle, a wise bird who often helped him. "There is a great threat coming, Bima. A greedy businessman wants to cut down this forest to make way for palm oil plantations. We must act quickly!"

Bima felt worried. The Kalimantan forest was not only home to many species but also a source of life for the Dayak tribe living nearby. Without hesitation, Bima gathered his animal friends: the mighty Sumatran Tiger, the intelligent Orangutan, and the agile Bawean Deer. They all agreed to help Bima protect their forest.

That night, under the full moon's glow, Bima and his friends held a secret meeting in the heart of the forest. "We must find a way to stop them," said the Sumatran Tiger in his deep voice. "I can scare the workers," he suggested.

"But we need more than just scaring them," Bima replied. "We need to make them understand how valuable this forest is."

The next day, Bima and his friends set to work. They planned to show the workers and businessmen the richness and beauty of the forest. The Orangutan displayed his climbing skills, showcasing how intelligent and essential they were to the ecosystem. The Black Eagle and other birds flew in beautiful formations in the sky, while the Sumatran Tiger patrolled the forest edge, ensuring no one entered without permission.

However, their efforts were not enough. The businessmen remained adamant about cutting down the forest for their personal gain. Bima felt desperate but did not give up. He decided to seek help from the Dayak tribe leader.

The Dayak tribe leader, a wise man named Tuan Adat, listened to Bima's story attentively. After pondering for a moment, he said, "We will speak to the government and use our customary law to protect our forest. But we also need to show the world how important this forest is."

With Tuan Adat's help, Bima and the Dayak tribe organized a cultural festival showcasing the rich traditions and life in the Kalimantan forest. They invited media and government officials to attend. The festival was a huge success. The world began to take notice and realize the importance of preserving the Kalimantan forest.

Pressure from the public and the government eventually forced the businessmen to back down. The Kalimantan forest was saved from destruction. Bima and the forest inhabitants celebrated their victory, but they also knew that their fight was not over. They had to continue to guard and protect the forest so that future generations could also enjoy its extraordinary beauty and wealth.

With strong spirit and determination, Bima, along with his animal friends and the Dayak tribe, vowed to keep protecting the Kalimantan forest, their precious home, from any threats that came their way. The forest remained green and alive, thanks to their tireless efforts.
