There is a right way and a wrong to do investigation. If you don't do them right there are things that can attach themselves to you. So let's dive in.

First step is to do your research. You have to know what you're getting yourself into. Look up what is said to happen at the location. Sometimes there are very little information about a location and that's ok. You should take notes so you can remember what you are looking for. Don't investigate your own home or space. It can invite something into your space.

The next step is to get equipment. This step also involves a little bit of research. You can find things on amazon and on paranormal sites like ghost stop. There is actually a ghost stop. After you get the gear you have to test it to make sure it works and make sure you know how to use it. I even had to look up how to use a pendulum on youtube. You may want to get something with a cross on it or something of religious significance because demons and evil spirits hate the cross. I know not everyone believes in God or a higher power but at least consider it. If you are not into religion you can get crystals. Just cleanse or sage the crystal. Hold them in your left hand. There are crystal shops. Never take a Ouija board.

Before you go anywhere you have to ask permission to go. The only reason you wouldn't have to do this is if it's a park or cemetery. If you want to while you are asking permission you can ask them if they have had any experience. The way you find places is either to do research or someone tells you about place.

Try to get people to go with you. It is not only a safety thing in the paranormal world, it's also safety thing in the real world. Make sure these people follow the rules and are in good mental space. Make sure day of they are feeling good. Also make sure that they will be respectful.

Unless you are in a building do not go at night. Some people will say not to go at night even in buildings. Do not go at 3 am because that is just asking for something to attach to you. There was a trend where people would do something at 3 am and called it the 3 am challenge. That of course is another dangerous trend.

Also before you get there you have to make sure that you are feeling good. This includes your mood and your state of mind. It is a known fact that if you are not feeling good or in the right state of mind you could get something attached to you or get possessed. If you scheduled something with someone there then you can always explain to them the situation and reschedule. Also check your intentions and vibration. Meaning if you are upset or low energy you may attract evil spirit. If you don't have good intentions of going don't go. This isn't a joke or game bad things can happen.

I know there are people who are into this sort of stuff without being religious so I will give advice for both the religious and the non religious. There is one phrase in the paranormal community that is thrown around a lot and that is "light and love". Light and love to a lot people mean Jesus. To me you can use light and love to describe good spirits or good ghosts. So if you are not religious you can choose to say that you only want to speak and interact with things that are of light and love instead of saying a prayer. If you should say a prayer and then through out the investigation say that you only want to interact or speak with things that of light and love.

When you do you investigations you can always show up early and do a walk through. It will give you a sense of the layout and the vibe of the place. If you don't do a walk through before the investigation you should look around and see if there are drafty windows or anything that may affect the results of the investigation. There are sometimes things we think are paranormal have another explanation. The point of the walk through or look around is to see if what you are experiencing is paranormal or is there another explanation.

Then during the investigation you need to keep your energy up. You have to be aware of how you are feeling and the things around you. If you start feeling that something is off then take a break or just end the investigate. If you feel like maybe there is something bad or evil around then say "if you are not good or of light and love go away." Know when it's time to leave. This can be when you (or someone on your crew) are not feeling like yourself (or themselves), things are flying off the walls or moving in a threatening manner or maybe the spirits or threatening you in the spirit box.

When you are there respect the spirits and the space. Also don't taunt or call on demons. Don't threaten a spirit or challenge a spirit. If you tell a spirit to do something or to show you how powerful they are you can get hurt. If you say something inviting a spirit to do something you don't get to determine when the evil spirits will do something. Even if you invite a good spirit to do something the bad spirits may take the invite as theirs.

At the end of the investigation you have to end the investigation by being respectful to the spirits and the place. Say thank you to the ghosts and the owner of the place. You can even say goodbye to the ghosts or spirits. Don't invite things back to your home. Make sure you are not leaving anything behind. Try to disassociate from the experience whether you do this in the space or in your car before you drive home. Make sure you feel like you before you drive home. If you are religious say a prayer and cleanse yourself. If you are not find a way to cleanse yourself.

There are cleansing resources on the internet. You have to find the way or ways that fit you. Crystals, prayers and cleansings are personal. Not all cleansings, crystals and prayers will fit everyone. So do what feel right to you.

Hope this made sense and that this helps you. Please be safe. Happy investigating or hunting.
