The night was dark and cold as Sarah made her way back to her apartment. She had been out with some friends, and the drinks had flowed freely. As she walked, she noticed a small antique shop on the corner. Sarah had always loved old things, and she decided to take a look.

HORROR STORY

The shop was cluttered and dimly lit, but Sarah could make out various antiques and curiosities on the shelves and tables. She spotted a dusty old mirror in the corner and was immediately drawn to it. It was an ornate wooden frame with intricate carvings and a slightly yellowed glass.

"May I help you?" a raspy voice asked from behind her.

Sarah jumped and turned to see an old man with a long white beard standing behind her. He wore a black cloak that looked like it had seen better days.

"I was just admiring this mirror," Sarah said, gesturing towards it.

The old man nodded slowly. "Ah, that one has a story."

Sarah's curiosity was piqued. "What kind of story?"

The old man leaned in conspiratorially. "Legend has it that if you look into that mirror at midnight, you'll see the face of your true love."

Sarah laughed. "That's just an old wives' tale."

The old man shrugged. "Believe what you will. But be warned, that mirror is broken."

Sarah looked at the mirror again, but she couldn't see any cracks or imperfections.

"What do you mean, broken?"

The old man sighed. "Long ago, a woman bought that mirror for her wedding day. But when she looked into it, she saw not her true love, but the face of a demon. The shock was too much for her, and she died of fright. Since then, that mirror has been cursed."

Sarah rolled her eyes. "I don't believe in curses."

The old man smiled thinly. "Suit yourself. But if you do decide to buy it, I must warn you that it is not for the faint of heart."

Sarah hesitated for a moment, but then she reached for her wallet. "How much do you want for it?"

The old man named a price, and Sarah handed over the cash. As she left the shop, she couldn't help but feel a little foolish for believing in such nonsense.

Later that night, Sarah sat in front of the mirror in her apartment. She had cleaned off the dust and grime, but she couldn't see anything out of the ordinary.

"Midnight, huh?" she muttered to herself. "Well, let's see if this curse is real."

She sat there for what felt like hours, but nothing happened. Eventually, Sarah gave up and went to bed.

The next morning, she woke up feeling strange. Her dreams had been vivid and unsettling, full of twisted images and dark shadows. As she got dressed, Sarah noticed that her reflection in the bathroom mirror seemed... off. Her eyes looked sunken and dark, and her skin was pale and clammy.

As the days passed, Sarah became increasingly obsessed with the broken mirror. She would sit in front of it for hours, trying to see something, anything. But all she saw was her own reflection, twisted and distorted.

Her dreams continued to be disturbing, and she began to see strange things out of the corner of her eye. Shadows seemed to move of their own accord, and whispers echoed through her apartment at night.

Sarah tried to ignore it, but she couldn't shake the feeling that something was watching her. One night, she woke up to find the broken mirror had somehow moved from her bedroom to her living room.

She approached it cautiously, her heart pounding in her chest. As she got closer, she saw that her reflection was no
