Village of fear
The village of "Kalepur" located in the mountains of Uttarakhand was less famous for its beauty and more for its scary stories. It was said that no one went out there after sunset. The reason was the black hill near the village, where strange events took place in the dark of night.
Rajiv, an investigative journalist, reached the village to know the truth of this mystery. The villagers were repeatedly warning him, "Don't go to the black hill. Whoever goes there, does not come back." But Rajiv ignored it considering it a superstition.
The next night, he set out towards the black hill with his camera and torch. The path passed through a dense forest. There was silence all around. There was a strange heaviness in the air along with the coolness. On the way, Rajiv saw a broken temple. He stopped there and took some pictures with his camera. Just then, he heard someone crying from inside the temple.
"Who is it?" Rajiv called out, but there was no response. The crying grew louder. Ignoring the fear, he went inside the temple. There was no one there. But there were writings written in blood on the walls: "Go away from here, or else you will die."
Rajiv ignored it, thinking it was a prank, and continued walking towards the hill. As he reached close to the hill, he felt someone was watching him from behind. He turned around, but there was no one there.
After a while, he saw an old mansion. The door of the mansion was half open, as if someone had called him in. Rajiv gathered courage and entered inside. It was pitch dark inside the mansion, and only the light of his torch was blinking. Strange pictures were drawn on the walls—human-sized but terrifying and distorted.
Just then, he heard someone whispering from a room. He went into the room, where an old woman was sitting on the floor. There were deep wrinkles on her face, and her eyes were red. "Why have you come here?" the woman asked in a low but angry tone.
Rajiv said, "I have come here to know the truth."
The woman replied laughing, "Those who know the truth do not stay alive here." At that very moment, the doors of the mansion closed automatically. Gusts of cold wind started coming in from the windows, and scary laughter echoed all around.
Rajiv tried to run out, but the floor of the mansion turned into the ground, and he started sinking inside. Then the woman said, "Now you will also become like us." Her eyes became redder, and hands came out of the walls of the mansion and started to catch Rajiv.
The villagers saw in the morning that smoke was rising from the black hill. Rajiv's camera was lying near the village temple, but what was seen in the pictures taken in it was heart-wrenching. The pictures showed the scary walls inside the mansion, blood marks and Rajiv's face frozen with fear.
After this, Kalepur village became even more deserted. Whoever mentioned the black hill, his voice started trembling. And Rajiv? He had become another part of the scary stories of that village.
