As you may know, schools and universities will be opening soon, and did you know that your school is haunted in your state? The isolation can be scary if you do a zoom class while your roommate goes out for an activity. You might hear a door slam or running footsteps outside of your room, but when you look out in the corridor, there's no one there, especially in the middle of the night. In the creepier part, you must go to the bathroom alone in the dimly light of the corridor.

Montclair State University

Montclair State University

Montclair State University in New Jersey is said to be one of the most haunted colleges in America. For years there have been reports of doors and windows slamming, lights flickering on and off, constant cold, and even a ghost who hovers over the students' beds.

Montclair is built on top of Indian burial grounds, and alumni say it's a terrifying school. So scary that many refuse to go in the woods after sundown. There have been many reports of figures believed to be Native Americans spotted in the forests.

Students reported appliances and lights turned on and off, bedroom and bathroom doors would have opened and the sound of a little girl laughing in the hallway. Doorknobs would rattle too.

A female resident woke up in the middle of the night to find a man dressed in 19th-century clothing standing over her bed with a loving facial expression. She thought that it was her roommate's boyfriend and told him that he had the wrong bed. After saying this, she watched the man walk away and vanished into thin air.

Cal State University Channel Islands (Camarillo, CA)

Cal State University Channel island

It is never a good idea to build a university on the grounds of an old insane asylum. It was closed in 1997, and it was used as a film location for Halloween (1978). Since it was abandoned for several years, in 2002, they opened Cal State, and students have reported seeing the university's old residents wandering the grounds, halls, and streets of Cal State. Inmates are seen entering rooms that are empty upon investigation. Another inmate dances in a parking lot at night, only to fade as he approaches the streetlights. Scarier still are the violent ghosts who have thrown objects, knocked students over, and vandalized locked classrooms.

Transylvania University – Lexington, Kentucky

Transylvania University and their mascot is a bat

Even though the name Transylvania may sound weird for a university, it is a private institution with an enrollment of 950, the campus size is 46 acres, and their mascot is a bat. It is known best for its liberal arts, and its tuition fees are significant to enroll. However, from 1819 to 1826 a French professor Constantine Rafinesque taught natural history and modern languages. Unfortunately, he was not like by his colleagues and the students. They complained about his attitude. So, he was fired. When he left, he cursed the school? A year later, the school lost its state funding, and a devasting fire erupted in the main building, but some possessions that Rafinesque left were untouched. In 1969, another fire broke out. Did he curse the school?

It is haunted by a little girl by the name of Gracie Watkins. Students either seen her or felt her presence in the dorm. Her transparent figure can be seen around the hotel, going from room to room. And leaving wet footprints. Students can hear her giggling and playing marbles outside the dorm. And a few times, she would move things around the student's room in the middle of the night.

She's buried in Bonaventure Cemetery.

If you stay in the O-house, you might get a visit by Gracie Watkins, a real-life ghost prankster. Just keep an eye out for her.
