Haunted places # 4

some fun stuff

I decided to focus a little on Texas and a few other southern states this go round. A lot of these places didn't have much information on the hauntings or the ghosts.

Let's start off in Texas. One place that is haunted is the El Paso Museum of art. Sadly I didn't find much information on this place. One ghost is an older woman who is seen looking down at people from an upper window. Lights will go off and on by themselves and doors will open and close on their own. Also moans will come from the basement.

In Alabama (Saraland) there's a place called Kali Oka Plantation or Oak Grove Plantation that is very haunted. I have seen in my research that it is not open to the public. People report seeing the apparition of a white woman lighting candles in the windows. She was believed to be the wife of the plantation owner. It is also believed that she gave birth to a baby that drowned and is attached to cry baby bridge. People also report seeing an apparition of a 7 foot tall black man walking around the grounds. The guy was a bodygaurd and the grounds keeper of one of the former residents. It was also believed that he was a slave. He's been spotted on the porch of the house. He is also seen behind the woman protecting her.

So also in Saraland Alabama there's the cry baby bridge. The story was that a woman was being chased by soldiers. She put the baby in under the bridge and it drowned. If you go to the bridge you can hear the baby cry.

Now to Fort East Martello Florida where Robert the doll is. Now I know a doll is a thing and not a place but it just came up on my research so bare with me. Robert is the real life inspiration for the Chucky movies. He can be seen at the Fort East Martello Museum. He is also featured on many ghost tours. Where Robert is displayed rotates yearly. He is dressed like a naval officer and was given as a gift to a child named Otto. The person that gave Robert as a gift was a servant who was skilled in black magic and vodoo. The servant cursed the family through Robert the doll. Otto's parents noticed that he would talk to the doll and the doll seemed to talk back. The doll was also caught running from room to room giggling. Neighbors also have seen Robert go from window to window while the family was out. He also has been known to knock over furniture in the middle of the night. When Otto passed away he left Robert in the house. The new family that moved had a 10 year old who would wake up in the night screaming saying that Robert was attacking her. If you see Robert you have to ask nicely to photograph. If he agrees he will tip his head to one side. If he doesn't agree and you take his picture any way the curse will follow you.

Also in Florida the Hemingway house is Key west. It is said that Ernest is seen waving to people in the top window. Lights turn on and off after hours. Also type writers can be heard as well, probably Ernest still writing.

I hope you enjoy this series I will continue to do this type of post. I will have at least one more of this type of posts coming soon. Do you know of a place you want me to cover let me know.
