Odeon Cinema

In 1946, 2000 people attended the Odeon Cinema in Bristol to watch the movie, The Light That Failed. The main character, early on in the film, was blinded after being shot—when at the exact same time, with the audience completely unaware, 33-year-old cinema manager Robert Parrington Jackson was shot dead in his office in the same building. The father of four was discovered at 6:45 PM by the cinema café supervisor and died in hospital later that evening. The murder is still officially unsolved, despite a confession by a Welsh criminal on is deathbed in 1989.

The Odeon cinema is still in business today. In cinema three, the temperature is said to drop drastically while movies are screened. It is said that Robert's spirit still haunts the cinema, although his ghost only appears to women.

Xinhai Tunnel

The Xinhai Tunnel, built to connect Central Taipai to Muja, would at first appear to be just like any other tunnel. However, that is not the case—as it was constructed on top of a hill where a cemetery is located.

Many of the people who drive through this tunnel claim to experience 'gue dong chiang,' which refers to the phenomena in which you find yourself trapped in a place and cannot get out of it. The drivers can see the end of the tunnel, but no matter how fast they drive, they can never reach the end of it.

The most common ghost sighting in the tunnel is that of an elderly lady, who can be seen dusting the ground right in the middle of the road. The lady is stubborn and will not move no matter how many times the driver honks or yells at her. She will stay cleaning, right until the car is just a few feet away from her, and then she will disappear.

Ballboley Forest

Ballboley Forest in Northern Ireland is an ancient druidic sight, and during the 15th to 17th centuries, as many as thirty people have gone missing in this area. Today it is an open space park, although many locals are wary of leaving the path, and will not go near the trees whatsoever. Shadowy figures (both human and animal) have been seen wandering through the forest, and strange noises are heard from within the trees after nightfall.

In 1994, a couple heard screaming nearby whilst they were walking through the woods. Before they had time to investigate, a shadowy figure began to materialise in front of them, and they fled the forest.

In 1997, two men were walking down the path when they heard strange rustling in the forest. They continued to walk until they heard a woman moaning in distress. The men headed off the path in the direction of the noise to find the woman and help, when they saw all the trees surrounding them covered in blood. The screaming and crying got louder, and looking behind them, the men saw four cloaked figures in tattered robes facing their direction. The men ran away in terror.

Ballyboley Forest is believed to contain a doorway to a 'Celtic Otherworld,' and many people who stray away from the path report a feeling of being watched from the distance.

Conn Barracks

During World War II, the Conn Barracks in Schweinfurt, Germany was a Nazi hospital and psych ward. Today, it is a barracks for US soldiers. One night, a soldier staying at the ward reported having a dream in which a Nazi soldier and a nurse were stood beside the bed, talking to each other. The nurse had a sad expression and was covered in blood, as the solder whispered something in her ear. After hearing the soldier's commands, she lurched forward and began to choke the soldier in his bed.

Two years later, another US soldier was staying in the same room. One morning, he woke up and reported having the same dream.

The room the soldiers shared happened to be built above a drainage room where dead bodies were prepared for burial.

As well as the ghost that appears in dreams, another spirit in the barracks is one of a woman who protested against abortions during her lifetime. Her ghost haunts the corridors, running along them and carrying a bloody fetus.
