Haunted Houses should have scardy cat nights

From someone who loves them but has ptsd

I have been to and enjoyed many haunted houses, but lately they have been full of too much male aggression. I want to see cool sets be creeped out or scared and move on. I don't want to be chased with a chainsaw for more that a clip of a bit and I don't want to be stopped from continuing through the path. When I waited at the beginning of one recently, the workers blamed the people walking through for the clogging. It was actually the scare actors blocking the path or making their scare so long that passing was difficult. Some would not let up on continuing stabbing something at me over and over. I'm going through like.... I get it, you put that stick or drill at me, let's keep it moving. Some points cornered for a long time without being able to leave because they are holding a chainsaw over my head.

Standing in front of one lately I was made to sign a waiver that said for the people there to not bully the scare actors. The scare actors are more likely to do that to those walking through. Right as I go up to wait in line, I come across a man that smells like old cheese and starts mimicking me for a while. More male aggression happens when I'm standing there and I start having a ptsd attack and have to unfortunately leave. This has not happened to me before so it seems s like this issue is escalating up worse than in the past. At least my money goes to their charity so they say. There is always nights in some where they have extra scares like lights off or actors can touch you so why not the other way?

Scardy cat nights at places also makes it where people can bring younger members of the family without as much worry. A way to introduce the scenery and some creepy interactions without being lunged at or chased. I love the work the houses put into to make a walkthrough set. I enjoy Halloween vibes and some scares but it goes too far when I can't enjoy it because people don't know when to let up and have you be able to pass and later they blame the customers saying they are the ones freezing up when they are just stuck. People pay for an experience if you want them to keep coming back maybe don't swap blame. Yes you are a boarded up windows vibe but still a type of business.

There is always push to ramp up but chill down would be fun. Those who would like to pay to see the houses without screaming their lungs out can go at these times. Maybe an extra run in November where they cool it down but still make some money. I am sad a lot of haunted houses have went from regulated fun to torture get offs. I like the switch on horror games to turn it into a creepy walkthrough like layers of fear instead of monster chases, so why can't attractions pick this up for those who want to enjoy but don't have to take an extra dose of meds to be able to? It doesn't help I live in the south where many men were taught to torture women instead of just fun prank scares. Need those nights just to push them to chill that mindset out. Those who tell me I shouldn't go because I have ptsd are being too all or nothing. I want to be able to enjoy these atmospheres and outings just like anyone else.
