HAUNTED DREAMS

CLAWS OF A WITCH

By Amechi Margaret Chimdifu Published 2 years ago • 1 min read

I remember this dream I had, this dream that haunted me. I was lost in a land unknown to me, with a vast land too far to see. But I was not alone, I was with them. They tried their hardest to protect me from what I couldn't see, the fear ran through my face in the form of a sweat. What I feared I didn't know but the aura explained to me where I shouldn't go. After walking for hours we saw a door, in the middle of nowhere, that's when Andrew jumped. He opened the door and led us in, the house looked safe or so we thought. I woke up in a coffin filled with red water, how I went to sleep I couldn't remember the next thing I saw stayed in my memory longer. Andrew laid lifeless next to me in his very own coffin, eye sockets empty and filled with berries. I tried to scream but my voice hid saying “ I fear I'll die too if you say a word“ . Fin was nowhere to be found, so hope lifted me that I might not be alone. The house seemed familiar, I've been here before, I walked into the kitchen hoping for something more but I was met with a woman crouched in a corner begging for what? “Hello“ my voice left the cave. The moment she turned I knew certain things had changed because in her mouth was Fin's hand which possessed the ring he treasured with his life. I took a step back which prompted a smile , she couldn't stand but she could jump and that was the last thing I saw before I woke. The bed was soaked in sweat and my body was cold , so I got up to wash my face because the night was young. Looking in the mirror my neck was scarred with scratches and bruises. That wasn't the last night she visited with her candies and gifts .
