Tricks are for kids, but ritualistic games are for adults, especially when the following are at play. The games mentioned here bring unknown curiosities to life, so they say, playing on fears and the irresistible lure of a good mystery. If you aren’t afraid of potentially psychologically distressing fun, play one or two games from this list. Just in time for Halloween!

Bloody Mary

In the Bloody Mary game, players try to summon the ghost of Bloody Mary in a bathroom mirror.

To play, turn off the bathroom lights and light a candle. Place the candle on the sink in front of the mirror so you dimly see your reflection in the mirror. As you stare into the mirror, repeat “Bloody Mary” three times to summon the ghost.

If Bloody Mary doesn’t appear, close your eyes, and spin three times in a circle, and look in the mirror again. Legend has it Bloody Mary is more likely to appear in the mirror after performing this extra ritual.

The Candyman Sleepover Game

Candyman, the 1992 movie, tells the story of a Black man named Daniel. He was originally a talented artist and the son of a slave who was killed during the late 19th century after forming a relationship with a white woman. His killers tortured him before cutting off his right hand and smearing it with honey so that bees would sting him.

Daniel returned as Candyman, a vengeful spirit with a hook as a right hand. He wanted revenge on those who tortured him. According to legend, Candyman appears behind anyone brave enough to repeat the name five times while looking in the mirror and kills them if they cannot escape the room quickly enough.

Are you brave enough to play the game?

Play at night after turning all the lights off in the bathroom. Light a candle and place it on the sink beneath the mirror for slight illumination. Usually played at teenage sleepovers, the Candyman game summons scary fun into the night.

The Ouija Board

The Ouija board dates back to the 19th century when it was used as a parlor game and a tool to communicate with spirits. Together with a pointing tool called a planchette, the Ouija board helps connect with the spirit world, allowing users to contact the deceased.

Although some view the Ouija board as entertainment, others perceive it as a reliable way to speak to loved ones who have passed away.

To play the Ouija board, sit down at a table with a group of people. Each person places their fingertips on the planchette and asks questions out loud. The planchette moves on its own, spelling out the answers to the question provided from the spirit world.

The Midnight Game

Played at midnight with all the lights off in the house, The Midnight Game aims to summon Midnight Man, a malevolent entity. To summon Midnight Man, players write their name on a piece of paper, and then prick their finger, dripping the blood onto their name on the paper.

The blood-soaked paper is placed in front of a closed door. A candle is lit and placed near the paper with a matchstick set nearby.

Played correctly, Midnight Man sends chills and eeriness through the air as he roams through the darkness of the home. If Midnight Man finds the person who summoned him, he may harm them.

Devil Face

Another game that requires a mirror, Devil Face is simple to play if you’re not afraid.

First, you need 12 black candles. When you have the candles, walk into a bathroom at 11:55 p.m. Light each candle, stand in front of the mirror, and turn off the lights. Set a quiet alarm to ring at midnight. Close your eyes. At exactly midnight, open your eyes and look in the mirror and you’ll see the face of the devil instead of your own reflection.

Looking into your eyes is one way of possession, in case you didn't know that already.

Yeah boy I played all of these at a sleep over when I was 13 it was an initiation thing I had to do as a rite of passage it scared all of us and without knowing it my parents found out and used this as a way to prank us by making creepy noises and flickering the lights.

I have heard of most of these but only tried one and that was the Ouija board. Limited results but maximum nerves! I think I will leave these here for others to try...
